We had the good fortune of connecting with Shantis B. Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shantis B., is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One word. Balance. I truly believe that one of the major keys to life is living a life of balance. Living a life of balance means that you are not neglecting any of the many facets of who you are. Let me simplify it with an example. I have a belief in a system that I refer to as “The Hour of Power”. The hour of power consists of twenty minutes for the mind (reading) twenty minutes for the body (physical exercise) and twenty minutes for the spirit (prayer/meditation), I believe that if I am consistently attentive to these three areas, I align myself with success.

What should our readers know about your business?
The name of my business is Reign Business Consulting. I created it specifically with the black community in mind. Due to the drastic changes in social and economic climates, I thought it would be a good time to encourage my community to start their own businesses and to assist them however I could. At this point, the thing that I am most proud of is the podcast I have created and sponsoring through my business. The name of the podcast is The Wednesday Wine Down with Queen Shantis. This podcast gives entrepreneurs and business owners an opportunity to share details about their journey and their business. My background consists of being active in corporate America for more than twenty years. In that twenty years, I made a conscious decision to learn how the companies I worked for were successful. I did this with the intention of sharing that information with my community when the time presented itself, which is now. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is being an outspoken individual, particularly, an outspoken black woman. I have received a lot of criticism because of it, but I continued to remain true to myself and now I use my voice and my platform to help others.
The most important lesson that comes to mind is to always try to find your balance is everything you do. My personality has usually been all in or all out but this has not always worked in my favor. Balance is the key to happy and successful life in my opinion. When anyone thinks of me and my brand, I hope their first thought is that I am authentic, I hope their second thought, is that she has really put in the work and educated herself in her field and that the last thought is “cut this young lady a check! She’s going places!” Lol… not kidding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooo… I love this question. I am originally from Atlanta and it has a lot of cool places to hang out.

Two requirements:

1.. The Apache Cafe (I think its called Apache XLR now)- They have live music, open mic nights and cocktails. Its a real chill vibe.

2. El Ponce Mexican restaurant. I go here at least twice a month just to have an afternoon margarita and and catch some sun on the outdoor patio.

Historically, you HAVE to visit the King Center and the King house which is now a museum where MLK grew up.

Next you have to go on a winery tour with “Pop the Cork” wine tours. A lovely couple pick you up and drive you to the most amazing wineries for wine tasting. It’s amazing!

Another place i love to frequent is the High Museum of Art. They have diverse art exhibits and are always pleasing.

I could go on and on but keeping an open mind, you are sure to find so new enjoyable experiences around the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughter Isabelle has always been an inspiration to me and for me. From the time that I knew I was pregnant with her TO THIS DAY… she inspires me to be the best woman I can be. I always want to represent myself well as a way to encourage her to always put her best foot forward.
