Hi Shameka “Meka”, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Continuing to try new techniques, putting yourself out there, whether networking or posting on socials.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My unique eye and style of my work sets me apart. I continued to practice and trial and error before I got to a point where I was happy with showcasing my work. It was not easy. Some doors never opened, and some things never panned out but I’m happy for the doors that did open for me. A hard lesson I’ve learned is never put all your eggs in one basket. Life comes at you fast, and always have a backup plan.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would invite for a quick bite at Cafe eclectic. It’s a cozy spot in midtown with some of the best breakfast and lunch options.

If they want to check out some art, try some cool restaurants, and see live music, they can get all this in one at Crosstown Concourse. It’s a huge spot in midtown as well, with so much to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shoutout myself and give credit to me for most of my success. Honestly, I’ve had little support and all I can do is continue to strive for excellence.
