We had the good fortune of connecting with Sévère Erase and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sévère, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born and raised in Haiti and traveled to the states When I was just ten years old. I have lost of memories of Haiti and the way my mom conducted business. I witnessed it first hand, she was such an early riser and knew when and how to delegate tasks. The culture of Haitian people is very rich, they take pride in what they do and their reputation is something to cherish and don’t take lightly. I believe in the same that your reputation and how you conduct business or self is what people will remember you as. So I do my best to leave a good traill behind so others will remember the good in me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The art of dressing is a world of fun. Styling many people would say but I rather The Art Dressing. As a child I was amazed at my mothers style and of course copied her by playing in her dresses. She played a pivotal part of me discovering style and fashion, because she paid special attention to my sisters and I. I still have nostalgic moments from patent leather shoes.

I always had fun with fashion. I had tried many endeavors and out of all of them content creating was the only one I decided to be my last one even if It killed me. I just wanted it so badly.

After the death of my mother in 2020 I decided to start a month later. I was in a dire place to leave my footprint behind. After a year of inconsistency I decided to buckle down and take it to another level.
My cousin suggested I do a 365 day styling challenge. I was afraid just thinking of it. If something scared me that much, I thought it was best to do it and crush that fear.
Creativity is a muscle that we all have and the more you use it, the more of it you have. My closet became my happy place to explore and get inspired.

Most of my outfits are Thrifted, old from my archive or revamped by me. I find power in transforming myself when I dress. It’s my pleasure to think, rummage through racks, people watch, and be inspired to try something new. Waking up to out an outfit together has become a part of me. I realize when the creativity comes, take notes or it will disappear when you need it.

ShoWing up daily It still isn’t be easiest thing to do. But one thing I have learned is to show up regardless. I show up late, I show up with imperfections, but mostly I show up as my authentic self. I can’t rely on anyone else doing that but me, so I might as well do it for myself. Through this process I had to be my super hero and rescue myself.

As a woman, a mom, a wife and a creator I want my little girls to see ho their Mommie is working on leaving a legacy by being my best self and showing daily for myself.

I want the world to know clothes only become what you make it to be. Don’t keep your clothes for special occasions, wear that special sparkly dress… because that sparkle May just outlive you.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother has been the biggest impact in my life both as she loved and after her transitioning to heaven. She encouraged me to be creative and nudged le to use my necessities as creatives fuels. Secondly making things took place after her weather when I realize there so much in me I had not tapped into. This is where my husband Emmanuel played a major role into helping me change my mindset with daily affirmations and hails writing. This has helped me tremendously in my growth as a new content creator.
