We had the good fortune of connecting with Seph Dot and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seph, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I feel as though staying true to myself has helped me succeed and move forward in my creativity. Through out life people will try to tell you the way to do things that may go against who you are, but what is not explained is that there is more than just 1 way to do things! I pride myself on being an unique individual with my own perspective but always staying open minded to knew possibilities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create what I would like to call “vibe music” which is basically music that makes you feel, no matter what that feeling is, it gives you a sensation while taking a glance into my mind and my perspective on things. What I love about my music is that my approach to songs are very unique, sometimes I’m melodic, other times I’ll rap with an introspective flow or (a lot of the time) I will combine both! I am very excited to expand my sound and gain new listeners.

I am apart of a collective of likeminded individuals called “The Bushes” and our goal is to grow within our various fields of creativity. We as a whole are known for throwing “BushFest” in Charlotte Nc. BushFest is a music based festival that highlights up and coming artists while highlighting other creative artistry as well. My goal is to make BushFest as big as possible showcasing all types of creativity all around the world!

Lastly being a designer has allowed me to combine my talents and passions. I design and create my own merch, sometimes shoot and edit my own videos (YouTube search “Fuzzy” “ROXAS Freestyle” & “MADARA”). I also have an accessory brand called “The Kollextive” which is on the rise at a rapid rate. The Kollextive is an essential brand created to connect bright minds and creative spirits, all prices are unique and hand crafted. I am very excited to see the expansion of this brand.

All of these avenues that I pursue are all connected in some way and my goal is to take all of them to the maximum extent that I can take them.

Making it this far has definitely been challenging but more so on a mental level because believing in yourself is easy in theory but being an artist is hard because you always have to stay true even when you aren’t getting the recognition or the highlights. I pride myself on never giving up and that is why I am here today. Am I a big artist? Not by a long shot but I will continue to grow and succeed because I believe in my vision that strongly. The main lessons that I have learned was that you should never count yourself out and to stay persistent committed & consistent!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to go on adventures and to be around great energy so if a friend came to visit we would have a blast! A perfect week for me in Charlotte Nc would consist of stopping by the BEST PRINT SHOP IN THE COUNTRY Macflyfresh located in camp Northend. At this print shop I have been involved in designing really dope fashion pieces wether it is for my personal brand or for others, I would show my guest how to create a design and screen print it on a garment, from start to finish this would be a life long memory’. After creating their own dope gear at macfly we would go chat and grab some brews at our local breweries or my favorite place, common market where they have snacks, a deli and of course good beer ciders and wine! I know for a fact some of Charlotte’s creators will be having some sort of artistic exhibition in the city so we would check those out or explore some of the museums in the city. At some point in the week we HAVE to go on a hike at crowders mountain! Very great journey up and a fulfilling feeling once we reach the top! By the weekend it’s time for a show! Ironically BushFest just so happens to be the weekend that my guest is here. This festival created by “The Bushes” will have some of the best artists that you have ever seen and of course you will see myself Seph Dot perform! Dope visual artists, vendors (Seph Dot merch and Kollextive being present) and food will be here as well! I don’t do it often but I love to party so we will hit the the city to find some fun. Finally we end the weekend with a gathering of all of my good friends and fellow creatives, eat good, bounce ideas and just enjoy each other’s vibes! And if we can go outside of NC we would be traveling the world!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to all of the people that have never given up on me and those who have always believed. Too many names to mention but by leading by example and accepting me for who I am you have truly inspired me to strive for greatness!

I would also like to shout out Anime as a whole for keeping my mind youthful and my imagination expansive!
