We had the good fortune of connecting with Santia Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Santia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk? What do we think about it? Our entire business was built on taking a risk. Six years ago, we created Eight 11 Homes with no idea that it would be what it is today. My husband and business partner grabbed each other by the hands, looked each other in the eye, and said “What do we have to lose”. Taking that risk played a significant role in our lives where the risk turned into a realized reality instead of a chance. No one prepares you for what is to come. The initial risk we took prepared us for the next risk and the risk after that. The risk in my opinion never stops unless you decide to stop growing. There is something exciting about taking risks because the reward is so much greater.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I recreate spaces by breathing life into using interior design and every tool at my disposal. What sets me apart is the ability to pay attention to the details. The details are what bring the puzzle piece together. I am most proud of our latest project completed on July 1st, 2022. We recreated a historic property built in the 1800s and made it a modern home. It was very hard. We were dealing with the unknowns of the property as we went into rehab and with community politics and building permits. We overcame those challenges by hiring the right team who was knowledgeable about the process to complete the work. We did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions along the way. The lesson learned in this process was not to give up. Not to take no for an answer. To keep asking questions until it made sense to you. We want the world to know that we create modern, comfortable spaces with you in mind. Our guests are at the forefront of our business and we design these spaces with them in mind. Our brand is about our guests. Creating the best experience possible when they stay at an Eight 11 Homes property.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Not to be biased but I would have her stay at an Eight 11 Homes property. We would visit restaurants like Cafe Intermezzo and Capital Grill. We would check music on the lawn on Lee street in Jonesboro, GA.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to credit my Husband Christopher Fox. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
