Meet Reonna Green | Founder of She Trademarks and Trial Attorney

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reonna Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reonna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was prompted to create She Trademarks after witnessing women jeopardize the brands, products, services, and empires they’d worked so hard to build, because they weren’t appropriately protecting and investing in themselves. As a fellow member of the beauty industry and legal profession, I share both legal and creative perspectives. I’ve made it my mission to be devoted to helping women identify potential areas of risk and crafting custom solutions to protect their brand, business, and ultimately, their livelihood. She Trademarks is only the beginning of how I plan to restructure the business world to favor women.

What should our readers know about your business?
I created She Trademarks to uplift and support women business owners by providing trademarking and business resources that ensure success and longevity for their beauty empires. What sets She Trademarks apart is that I know what it’s like to be the only woman at an all-male table where my “little idea”, plan, or strategy was overlooked. So here, at my firm, women never have to fight for a seat at the table. Instead, I created the perfect environment for women business owners to make their own table and create their own rules– the perfect formula to guarantee success. I want beauty professionals and beauty business owners to know that Trademarking is an integral part of your business. Without a trademark, that creative business name and clever catchphrase you came up with could easily be copied and monetized by someone else.
What I am most proud about when it comes to She Trademarks is the work I am doing within the beauty community. My brand is inspired by creative beauty professionals who need guidance and legal protection from those who may jeopardize their business. Additionally, She Trademarks is a testament to my strength and determination. There was a time when I was told by attorneys that I would never make any money with a virtual law firm, how the beauty professionals don’t care about legal and it’s a lost cause. It hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it because it’s something I enjoy and am passionate about. I am truly thankful that my passion aligns with a needed service within the beauty industry that can help women expand personally and professionally.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the midtown Atlanta area; it is just so full of activities and things to do. Since I am a self proclaimed foodie, my itinerary would be sure to pack in the best eats in town. Ponce City Market has the best food and bar options, which would be the first stop on the itinerary. For evening events, I would head up to the Ponce City rooftop and skyline park because it’s full of fun activities and gives you a great view of the city. Joy Cafe is a must-go-to for brunch. It’s a cute mom-and-pop shop, and the biscuits and gravy are delicious! For dinner, we would check out Southern Gentleman before heading over for tapas/drinks at the Gypsy Kitchen for a friendly Buckhead vibe. For a more low-key environment or if there happens to be a big sporting event on, we would head over to Hudson Grille which has plenty of TVs and Plenty of lemon pepper wings. In my opinion, the best time to visit Atlanta is during festival and concert season, and the Atlanta Brunch Festival is one of my favorites. Brunch and bottomless mimosas, yes, please! Truly, any outdoor Atlanta festivals/concerts are a great choice and there are plenty to choose from! The best thing about Atlanta is there is something for everyone, whether its indoor activities or outdoor activities, there is always something to do, and I would make sure we took advantage!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Some amazing people in my life have encouraged, mentored, and supported me during the early stages of creating She Trademarks. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child, well it also takes a village to start a business, and my village is top tier. First and foremost, my family has been incredibly supportive and has helped instill the confidence I needed to start a business and succeed in it. My mom is my biggest cheerleader and welcomes business updates regularly. My dad has allowed me to invest more financially in my business by creating a space for me to work & live while I focus on building my empire. My sister Syreeta has also helped in many aspects and keeps the company fresh and stylish on the marketing front while encouraging me. In addition to my family, my friends have also played an important role. My best friend Desiree has helped with the business since inception, when it was just my “little idea”, and has been a sounding board for all my major business decisions. Adria and Analesi have also been a huge help and are always willing to work a booth at an event on short notice to help support me and my business. I am genuinely thankful for all the people in my village. They are all so invaluable to me and the success of my business and I wouldn’t have made it this far without them.
