We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Streeter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachael, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my commitment to provide not just a cake but an overall unique experience. As both a creator and a consumer I’ve found that one thing most people never forget is their overall experience (i.e. service, presentation & product taste). Those elements determine (A) whether a customer will return or not return, (B) loyalty and (C) referrals. While building a brand within an industry with so many competitive options at our fingertips, I focused on what would set me apart from my competitors and uniqueness that will make consumers continuously choose Street Sweets Desserts. I understand that it will take more than just producing a beautiful cake to build a reputable business and relationships with those who choose to support Street Sweets Desserts, which is why my goal is to make every experience a memorable experience. I always want to be the type of confectioner, business owner and brand that is a true representation of excellence and my promise is to demonstrate that in every order I fill.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I am most proud of where I am now in this exact moment. I’ll always remember on my 24th birthday how depressed I felt. I said to myself, the only thing I have to show for my 24 years of life is 2 children. It was that moment that changed my drive, my view on who I was and where I was going. Fast forward to today, I am a college grad with 2 degrees, a Human Resources professional, business owner, home owner, a wife and mother. Although it feels amazing to describe myself with titles, it is my resiliency, tenacity and determination that describe who I truly am. It was not easy, as I spent many nights crying, studying and seeking more time in each day. Along the way, I’ve learned to be patient with myself, I now understand that life without purpose, is a life without meaning. I would encourage others to discover their meaning in life; soul search and find your true purpose in the universe.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, the first stop would be to my home. Lol, I’m pretty entertaining as it is! After she has settled in we would get dressed and head out to the city to do some shopping. Of course, we would have to grab a bite to eat. Therefore, we would head over to Miami Circle for a nice vibe and entertainment. During the week she will assist me with all my orders and complain about my attitude. We would absolutely squeeze in a massage or two, eat whatever we craved and spend most nights laughing talking and dancing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been extremely creative and expressed my creative abilities in areas of sewing fashion, cosmetics and baking with my Easy Bake Oven. However, what is a talent without proper guidance, support or encouragement? First I want to recognize my mother owner of Love & Relationship Matters (www.lindhartstreeter.com) for her support in literally everything I’ve ever shown interest in. For being my muse during our living room fashions shows, modeling my hair and nail designs and always taking the time to find a course, a school and/or the tools I needed to perfect those skills. Fast forward to 2017 when I created and displayed my entire baby shower setup (for fun). Denise Owner of Creative Visuals pushed me to take this hobby seriously. Initially, I didn’t feel as confident because there is clearly a difference between baking for fun versus baking for important events. Nonetheless, I took the risk and I’ve been going ever since. Lastly, my best friend and business partner Kim owner of Wall2Wall Events has literally been my accountability partner, visionary, promoter, marketer and the list goes on! Within the last two years I’ve become more knowledgeable of all the key components to legitimize Street Sweets and get it off the ground. There were so many things that I was unaware of, areas I needed more guidance in and just overall business analytics. Kim has literally assisted me while building her brand. It’s not often that you find genuine people who want to see you win!
