We had the good fortune of connecting with Quincilia Siah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quincilia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Some would say I am an accidental entrepreneur. I became very interested in the Professional Organizing industry after a friend planted the seed for me to check it out. As an Educator, I had always found it so rewarding to have been able to make a difference in ONE person’s life, each day. The more I learned about the Organizing industry, the more it spoke to me and pulled at my heart strings. Through this, I’d be able to continue my passion of making a difference in people’s lives but this time, in a much more intimate way, creating impact in their home.

I worked with a handful of mentors who had established Organizing businesses. I learned client management strategies, project management strategies and business management strategies from them then spread my wings and began SOS My Space in 2017.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I left my last career, where I managed a campus at a community college, I took some time off to “find myself”. After 20 years in the education industry, I realized that I had been living up to a prescribed image that was determined by a governing body and I had been suppressing parts of myself.

Starting my own business meant that I had the opportunity to blend my personality into my brand. Who I am is how I show up for my clients.

I’m a spiritual being living a human experience.
I am joyful.
I am expressive.
I am patient.
I am compassionate.
I am empathetic.

What makes me stand out from other Professional Organizers? I lead with my heart. The success of my business is built upon the foundations of the Law of Attraction. I run my business on intuitive decisions and this works really well for me.

I strive to understand who my client is before I introduce strategies to organize their homes. I believe that our home is an external manifestation of our internal state. My goal is to harmonize the inner and outer world. Without heart-centred dialogue, I cannot co-create this harmony with my clients.

Continued personal and spiritual development keeps me rooted in my values and beliefs. It allows me to be compassionate to my clients’ varied backgrounds, upbringings, habits and lifestyles. No one is the same so I have to treat each client with a personalized approach. It’s not easy to hold space for others but when they give me the feedback about how their life has been positively impacted by the work we do together, it makes it all so rewarding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooooh, I would take them to all my favourite places to shop for crystals! Infinite Serenity in Langley, Liberate Your True Self in Port Moody and the Crystal Arc on Granville Island.

The Himalayan Salt Cave in North Vancouver is also an incredible place to visit for a healing experience. I would hope that her visit would coincide with one of Matthew Kocel’s sound healing journeys held here!

Another local spot I love to visit is Fior Di Latte in Burnaby. They make the most delicious sweet and savoury pastries daily and make incredible coffee!

Heading into the summer season, a must-visit spot in Vancouver is non other than our own nude beach, Wreck Beach! It’s a family-friendly beach with gorgeous sand! There are a few long-time vendors here where you can buy beach blankets, delicious food and the best boozie freezies in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout goes to the two best business coaches a Solopreneur could have ever wished for. When I decided to take my business full-time, I reached out to Keith Lloyd – The Business Surgeon. He whipped my business operations into shape and taught me the importance of gratitude and positive mindset. Keith is such a heart-centred coach. He made me feel understood and identified my blindspots where I needed the most help. When I was ready to level-up my coaching experience, Lisa van Reeuwyk – Bloom Business Development, showed up in my life. Lisa’s secret sauce is in marketing and she helped me to really hone in on who my ideal clients are! Once I had this all figured out, I knew who I was directing all my blogposts to, who I was talking to in my social media posts and how to restructure my website. I have been attracting the most amazing clients since!

Lisa and I share a love for spiritual growth so it was only natural that, with her encouragement, I came out of the spiritual closet and incorporated Reiki into my service offerings. This has added depth to the quality of clients who find me, which I am so blessed to have.
