Meet Quamay Don George | An Artist at heart, multi-facet creator, from a Photographer, Model, Designer, Musician and Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Quamay Don George and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quamay Don, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor to me is to continue creating things that I like. Continue creating trying to push myself to new limits. The excitement I receive when I have a dope idea is unmatched. I believe going into everything I’ve done with an open mind and heart has allowed my success to increase at a pretty quick rate. Remain focused on what I love doing as soon as I feel pressure I take a step back and allow myself room to create freely. It’s about knowing what you want and knowing that it’s okay to express yourself freely.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Or Die Fly Apparel is about bringing people together to highlight their horizons for the better. I am excited to collab with any and everyone due to my photography background, this allows a new type of excitement for me because I create everything myself I don’t rely on anyone to produce my work. I think what sets my brand apart is that I work with all textiles of fabric and all of my items are genderless so that means anyone can wear my apparel I do not care who wants to wear it and that’s the fun part to see the different people actually enjoy my designs and how they style them is so fascinating to me. The process of stepping into my role as a designer I wouldn’t say was hard but it was a life lesson I had to realize as soon as I started. Somethings you may not think you will become but you never know what you’ll love until you do it. This allowed me to get closer to my spiritual side and approach life with a more open mind.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first I would set up a photoshoot for my friend just to make more connections because I believe that’s what makes the world go round is being genuine and vulnerable with people. I will take them to the goat farm because it’s an industrial aesthetic. I will also take him to a few studios, I know a place called Cinco that has great 5$ Frozen Magaritas that’ll get the job done and they have this amazing burger called the DF BURGER. Best burger in the city. Other than that I’m not big on itineraries because I’m more spontaneous than anything I like to surprise myself sometimes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My inspiration started off with my closest friend Hateea who has her own Fashion Designing brand “The New Project” A brand that I think is even better than my brand. Hateea has inspired me to start designing and I continue to learn from her everyday.
