We had the good fortune of connecting with Pretty Hippie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pretty, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I have an amazing team of people that have been a part of my brand for over 10 years. Their support, dedication and hard work are a major part of the success of my brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I created my own lane when it came to me being a DJ and creating my brand. Being a female you already are at a huge disadvantage, so I made sure I made it about the music and not sex appeal. I really think that’s what has kept me working in the industry long. I’ve always been true to myself and pushed the boundaries musically. Every year I get better and my bookings keep increasing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorites food spots to take people from out of town are Victory Sandwich, Six Feet Under, cafe intermezzo, STK and Umi Sushi. As far as going out Wednesday night at Koo Koo Room is a must, and probably to the many shows that happens in Atlanta every weekend or whenever I’m playing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband definitely deserves a shout out. His support and love for what I do is unmatched. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help me or my career. He keeps me grounded and sane, He has traveled all over the world with me as I perform, while excelling at his own IT career. I can not thank him enough. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.
