We had the good fortune of connecting with Pozzie Mazerati and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pozzie, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I’m really focused on prioritizing a healthy work life balance as I prepare to become a wife this year. And honestly speaking prioritizing myself and my partner over work has been very rewarding. When you’re not obsessing over success there’s less resistance so success simply flows a lot easier. It’s weird how that works. Creating a work life balance has showed me that real success is in living a healthy and happy lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong planning and working toward goals is essential, I just have a much more relaxed and balanced approach now. Behind every successful person is the gift of balance.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have various platforms in which I flow creatively from music, acting, filmmaking and overall content creating, so scheduling is important. So I’ll have days that’s strictly all about Music, my upcoming releases and my rollout strategies. I’m an independent female producer, artist and songwriter that’s built up my following with no major label and no major backing so it’s paramount to have new songs that highlight my colorful personality. From recording in the studio downtown ATL, to filming visuals for my content all over the city, I quickly found a niche for creating and shooting my own material. My acting career with BMG Talent, starting in Los Angeles, has blossomed and I have been filming my own short films and mini movies to accompany my music. Since my inspiring crew member days on the hit TV show Insecure, I have found a happy place inside the film space and I’m looking forward to my next two short films coming out this year. The power behind all my content ideas are the calendars I create for social media scheduling. Posting and promoting my work online has been essential to communicating my overall creative message. It has allowed me to organically grow a fanbase of over 75k followers across all social media platforms. I enjoy connecting and creating with my community. Follow me on Instagram @Pozziemazerati say hi. Let’s work!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oooooh Best friend in town, we are starting the morning off with a visit to the Georgia Aquarium, then I’m taking her over to Centennial Olympic park just so she can get a dope pic for the gram. After that we are going to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park. And since I’m a thrill seeker after our chill, morning activities we would spend the afternoon going indoor skydiving at IFly Atlanta. Next a quick lunch at Slutty Vegan. I’m ordering the Menage a Trois and convincing her to do the same, cuz its bomb! Next, we hitting up the Trap Museum then we heading over to The Roof at Ponce City Market for some more cute rooftop pics at sunset. She’ll be wore out by this time lol but we still aren’t done, next we’re heading over to Lazy Betty for dinner because I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant. And dassit, until the next day because I’ll have another full day of activities!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m dedicating my shout out to Give1Project, an organization that helped to shape my career and personal life. The founder, Thione Niang, gave me the opportunity of a lifetime (ten years ago) when I was selected to attend a Global Leadership Program in Paris, France with 10 other delegates. During that trip I formed lifelong connections and relationships. I’ve been traveling the world since and also formed my own organization Rhythm and Remedy Where Hip Hop Helps, which specializes in providing music, art and educational workshops for at-risk teens and inner city youth.
