Meet Perisaa Tenai: Artist, Executive Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Perisaa Tenai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Perisaa, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
PlayWriters Music Group was created to be an open arm, one stop shop for artist , songwriters , producers , models and other creative spirits . PlayWriters is offered as a safe company for woman and children to feel comfortable while executing their talents.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It took a lot of trial and error and tears to get where I am as an artist and business owner . As a women in this industry it can be hard to be taken serious , it can be hard to execute a mission due to the resources that are in front of you . What sets me apart from other engineers and talent companies is I make sure every artist is comfortable with being free in their creative process and successful in completing their mission . What made me overcome my delay was going to SAE Institute and being mentored by Mykel T Brooks where I learned how to produce , and engineer . Along the way I’ve learned that learning how to produce , record and engineer yourself makes things so much easier as a music genius , it cuts out having to wait on anyone else . What I want the world of I know about my brand is that if you need a safe place to record , be free and grow your career then I am the one you need . I take each client serious , each client becomes a friend . There is many ways music creatives can work together so I dare not end relationships just because a project is completed .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would love for my friends to try King Crab ATL for lunch or dinner , my favorite hangouts are always studios and production sessions but when I need just a drink and good time I enjoy Boogalou Restaurant and Lounge. . The Studios I hangout and work at are Icon Studios, The Purple Room , The Writers Room , Red Lyon Studios , Atlanta’s Best Sound Studio , and a couple more private studios throughout Atlanta . The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others.
