We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Herbin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paris, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The most important habits that I feel have cultivated my success and that are necessary for me to continue to evolve in all areas of life & business, are discipline, organization, routine/structure, and execution.

It is significantly important to have a routine for your life to create a frequency and vibration that inspires you, impacts you and influences your daily life. Being grounded mentally, emotionally and spiritually are vital. Routine and structure adds to this foundation. This also requires a level of discipline that causes one to unlearn certain habits and behaviors & become intentional about creating those new habits & behaviors that are necessary to focus and execute your vision. Being organized with your thoughts, your time, and where you focus your energy is also invaluable. Knowing when & what is taking place in your business is associated with a high level of organization combined with the other important habits. Lastly, executing the vision is the IT factor. All movement doesn’t equate to progress. Executing your plan/vision is exciting because you are now DOING versus merely dreaming. Don’t wait for the “right time” – write the vision and EXECUTE it!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Meraki Soleil, INC is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving overlooked youth. Cultivating a mindset of vision beyond their current circumstances. Leading them to healthier decision making and actionable steps of execution towards their dreams.

Our name alone sets us apart. Meraki means to put a piece of yourself in all that you do with a passion! Soleil is the French definition of Sun, representing light. The light that is within all of us that we so intentionally have to bring out and pour into all that we do. I am most proud of starting this organization. The process has its own challenges, however, the hardest part for most is starting. So, with no extensive record of entrepreneurs in my family, I am proud to have merely started and continuing to stay steadfast. I am excited about what this vision has created, how it will evolve and the lives it is impacting!

Easy? *laughs* Easy is non-existent in entrepreneurship. In building a business. In creating success. That is just open & honest. It has not been easy but the challenges have and are molding myself and the organization as a whole! Being receptive to the challenges and pushing through is key! Being resourceful and creative is also valuable to overcoming those challenges. And most importantly NOT doing it alone will create a solid cushion for falling down and getting back up!

I have learned the importance of being clear on my vision and who my targeted audience is. Being clear and concise on the service our organization provides and being intentional about getting in front of those individuals. I have learned the value in having a team, being able to delegate tasks to others that have strengths where I have weaknesses. And lastly, I have learned that this is a marathon, not a sprint. One day, one step at a time!

I want the world to know that MERAKI SOLEIL, INC IS UNIVERSAL! If there are overlooked youth in Jupiter, we will be there as well, impacting lives! This is not about me but about the future greatness that will manifest by way of the seeds being planted in each young person we connect with!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Food, food & more food! We would certainly take a food tour, trying new places around the city. We would pick a flag (a country) each day and go for it! Some of my favorites are Caribbean, Seafood, & Italian! The Brick has a variety of options, definitely a great pick!

Nature is one of the most calming and peaceful places in my opinion! So, we would definitely get near the water, enjoy the waves, the breeze, the beautiful sunrise/set! Also, near the trees and free animals in a serene park would be lovely. Hearing the different animals communicate with each other is so interesting to me. I actually love the zoo.

I also love candles and all things that smell good! There is a place here called Wick: A Candle Bar where you get to make your own candles and they are made with soy wax, one of the best places ever! (Me and my best friend have actually done this together before)

I also love physical movement! Dancing & yoga to be exact! Attending a yoga class and any type of dance class would be great also!

Being pampered is also an A++! Massages, spa treatment, more food! Yes! That would be a definite.

I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts, concentrating on theatre & dance (two of my passions) so I would certainly take guest to a live production! Either a dance show or a play!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh man! This is a good one. For starters, God gets ALL the glory. I am very intentional about my relationship with the creator and knowing that with his love, protection, and guidance ALL things are possible! It is important to be anchored in something that cultivates a healthy vibration in every area of your life.

My mother and Grandmother are both amazing women that have shown me what it looks like to fall down and KEEP GOING! I am grateFULL for their love, their protection & their guidance also. Seeing them evolve of the course of my lifetime has been a wonderful experience. I have learned through their experiences and experiences with them and it has certainly help shape me into the woman, the leader, the dreamer, the go getter, the believer that I am today.

I have also been extremely supported & poured into by my close friends & family, mentors, and my team during my journey. Success isn’t success doing it alone. I have not come this far by myself. The love, the encouragement, the financial support, the opportunities that I have been blessed with by those who fall into these categories is invaluable! Special shoutout to Ms. Sandra D, one of my mentors, who lead me to this opportunity! Thank you!!

Lastly, I feed my brain & spirit with books (knowledge & information) that fill my cup up! A couple very worth mentioning are You Owe You – Eric Thomas, Woman Evolve – Sarah Jakes Roberts, The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz, Think & Grow Rich – Napolean Hill & Get Good with Money – Tiffany Aliche. These are ONLY a few but a few that breathe life into me in every area of my life. Physically, mentally, emotionally, financially & spiritually! Get you a good book!
