Meet Oprah Zeon | Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Oprah Zeon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oprah, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I am the founder and CEO of A Journey to Empowerment, LLC, which is a Christian counseling practice. My services have a profound impact on the lives of families, individuals and communities by helping them navigate through difficult situations in their lives such as grief/loss, depression, anxiety, marital/family issues, trauma, etc.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A Journey to Empowerment, LLC is a Christian Counseling practice. What sets us apart from others, is this business is built on the foundation of faith. All decisions made, were thoroughly thought out and prayed about. What I am most proud of is that I stepped out on faith to build this practice, even when my circumstances did not look the best. I trusted in the Lord and His ability to provide. Was it easy? No, but I am a strong believer that anything in life that comes easy is not worth having. I overcame my challenges by not giving up, praying (a lot), and believing that this business was meant to help people persevere through their difficult life situations. The lessons I have learned thus far is to trust the process and be patient and I encourage others to do the same. One thing I want the world to know about me, Oprah Zeon, is that I am an overcomer and I walk by faith, not by sight.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is a beautiful city with so much to do. If you are looking for a place to eat, I’d definitely try Bangkok Station, Seasons 52, Negril Village, and Del Frisco’s Grille, to name a few. If you are looking to hang out with friends, head over to Top Golf, Ponce City Market, or The Painted Pin. If you are into walking or getting some fresh air, go the Beltline or Piedmont Park for a stroll. Again, Atlanta is filled with so much to do, hopefully this is a start!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents; without them I would not be where I am. They instilled great values about having faith in Christ, the importance of hard work, and loving others. I carry these values with me everywhere I go.
