We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Mitchell – Russell Ma|pmp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I believe roadblocks are opportunities for success when we take the time to evaluate, grow, and understand the lesson in each challenge. However, we must be strategic. Knowing when to keep going or pivot requires assessing impact, adaptability, and alignment with your long-term vision. Challenges are inevitable in both life and business, so it’s crucial to understand your purpose. When considering whether to persist or shift direction, ask yourself: Is this decision aligned with my purpose? Is it creating value? Does it have the potential to grow with the right adjustments? If the answer is yes, it’s worth pushing forward. However, if there is misalignment—whether financially or in terms of personal well-being—and continuing would be unsustainable, then it may be time to pivot or let go. The key is differentiating between temporary obstacles and fundamental roadblocks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Success is never a solo journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people and experiences that have shaped my path. My parents, Dr. Rebecca Dashiell Mitchell and Lacey Edward Mitchell Jr., have been a constant source of wisdom and encouragement, instilling in me the values of resilience, integrity, and purpose.

Professionally, I owe a great deal to influential people I’ve known in the industry—Gena Major and Orissa Thompson—who have been both mentors and friends. Their guidance, support, and shared wisdom have helped me navigate challenges and seize opportunities with confidence.

As for books, The Purpose Path by Nicholas Pearce deeply resonates with me. It explores the intersection of faith, purpose, and professional success, encouraging leaders to align their work with their calling. This book, along with the invaluable support of my community, has reinforced my belief in leading with intention and impact.

I dedicate my shoutout to all those who have poured into me—I stand on the foundation of their guidance, belief, and unwavering support.
