We had the good fortune of connecting with Nykiah Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nykiah, how do you think about risk?
Taking Risks played a “Teaching” role in my life and career.

I am definitely a risk taker and my views on taking risk is that, “You never will know, until you try, so just go ahead and try it!” Being a risk taker has impacted my life at times on different levels. I am now wise enough to know when not to take certain risks and that just comes from experiences of setbacks and bumping my head a few times, and getting back up again, this is what you will experience while doing so.

I can truly say that at times in my life if I would have never taken risks, I would have never known my strength, or How innovative I am, or how to improvise, because often risks forces you to push yourself to tap into your potential to who you are. Even now, I take risks and I always learn something from it whether I succeed in it or fail, either way, I never give up. Taking risks has played a major life teaching role in my life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being a Entrepreneur and having multiple business ventures in the Beauty Industry that provides beauty services (Hair & MakeUp) to the city of Atlanta, making everyone beautiful on a daily, because “when you look good you feel good” really has been rewarding and challenging at times, however, I would not trade it for nothing! Having a dream, and actually chasing your dreams is one of the best things that you can ever do in life. It won’t always be easy, It wasn’t easy for me to get to where I am today and I have more to go.. I decided to chase my dreams, I had already had a understanding of what all of that entails. I knew that whatever it is I wanted to do for business, on a daily, that I was going to get focused, keep a positive mindset and attitude even through the obstacles for sure.

One lesson that I learned to sales and attracting new customers or clients, is to never be to attached to the outcome. This means that in business you don’t wanna get too hyped about getting sales and clients or customers. You could easily get your hopes up, from excitement, and can be easily let down if your business miss a sale or lose a customer, other obstacles happen. So many dissapointments will often lead to you feeling down and wanting to quit, but never give up! Just allow things to flow how it should but always set up a backup plan to protect you and your business from falling under.

I love to share my thoughts because I want the world to learn more about my brand and and my experiences of how this journey of entrepreneurship has been. I am hoping that I am able to inspire, encourage and motivate others to Keep Going!!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in the City of Atlanta would be for a a great hang out and such meet up is Krog Street Market and/or Ponce City Market, located in the city and not far from Midtown Atlanta. There are so many shops there, the atmosphere is cool, and vintage and near the beltline.

I love to eat Ramen, so my favorite spot to go to for “The Best” Ramen is called Jinya over in Buckhead.

On a beautiful warm spring/summer visit Peidmont Park for a picnic in the park and there are also spring festivals that are so amazing to visit and much to be entertain by.
