Meet Nicole Sky | Actress/Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Sky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I perused such a artistic career because I’m a artist and I want to share my artistry with the world and I want them to experience this journey with me as a actress.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I will say how I got to where I am today was not a overnight type of situation. And lord knows as well as I know I have such a way to go. But I will say the beginning of my journey which I’m taking to childhood I’ve always been so intrigued with watching tv and watching all these actors play these characters on the tv I was like I haft to do that I remember as a kid mocking my favorite movies like. Cheetah girls, bring it on, hey Arnold and so fourth lol. My mom always said I was her special child because I was always such a character all the time just odd lol but in a good way. I remember as a child I’m look my start is going to be Disney like I haft to start on Disney but it wasn’t as easy as I thought there was this word called “Life” that came in the way. Middle school came around and I was trying to figure who I am out and didn’t really know who or what direction to go in as far as my identity comes in. I always as a kid never really liked playing outside with other boys and getting dirty and doing all those boys things I know my mom tried putting me in soccer and the only reason why I liked soccer is because of the sneakers it sounded like heels when I walked so I was obsessed with them I know I tried just wearing those when I wasn’t in soccer lol. My ending of 8th grade going into high school I kind of just shit down and went to a dark place just of not knowing who I was and just confused and I thought it was so wrong to have these feelings that I’m feeling just based on how society thinks. And I had to come to grips with like who I am as a person and that I’m a good person and I’m a loving person and nothing is wrong with me and living my truth as me wanting to be a women and growing into my womenhood. So once I got a grip on that I can now focus on the other part of me which is who is Nicole sky and what is Nicole sky purpose here in the world. I’ve been on this acting journey taking this thing SERIOUSLY for about three years now and I have such gratitude and thankful for the opportunities that I have had so far coming into this industry as a black trans women.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So my friends call me the life of the party. I’m always the one wanting to go out somewhere and do something. I love road trips, going to new places, going out to eat I’m such a foodie, I like going to clubs time to time I love dancing and listening to music with amazing cocktails. I just love to enjoy life and the people that are in my life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest shoutout are two most important Women in my life being my Mother Melissa Brown and My grandma Lurlene sterling
