We had the good fortune of connecting with Chirs Bellinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chirs, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well I have a passion for cooking. But I also want to leave my own legacy.

Something my family and friends can be proud of.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I come from a different type of background. A lot of people didn’t believe I’ll make it this far when I wanted to become a chef. What a lot of people don’t know is that I’ve always been cooking, it just took some time for me to understand that I’m really good at it. I want the world to know my name in a positive light and also I want the world to know that you can overcome anything and follow your dreams. I want to be living proof. So with my brand I will forever use/put chris bellinger on it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I would take them is the restaurant continental restaurant, the second place would be the restaurant twisted soul. But of course I’ll have to take them to Harold’s because I’m from Chicago and I just love the vibe there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well there is a few people that have helped me get to where I am. But Tammy Jones gave me my first shot in this. She believed in me. Also chef scotley innis also played a major roll in my career! He took me under his wing and taught me everything he knows! I will forever appreciate him and call him my big brother.
