We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Burdick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The first thing that comes to mind for me is prioritization!
There are a few things that I believe deeply on this topic:
– You are in control of your life and your time.
– You always have enough time for what’s important to you.
– “Busy” isn’t a status symbol.
– People often confuse productivity with busyness.
Prioritization allows you to work *efficiently* by focusing on the right things/most important things so you can make meaningful progress in the right direction.
The method that I use every day to help me prioritize is called The Eisenhower Matrix! It’s a task management and decision-making tool that organizes to-dos based on priority and importance.
Prioritization has helped me succeed because success, to me, is building a sustainable business where I can actually enjoy the luxuries of entrepreneurship, instead of constantly feeling stressed out and burnt out.
If you’re curious to learn more, I wrote a blog post about how I use this method to organize my tasks and schedule my week as a business owner here:

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Squarespace Website Designer and Website Copywriter. My goal is to help other business owners look legit, feel confident, and enjoy entrepreneurship. I want to help my clients have a strong online presence, allowing them to achieve their business goals so they can focus on what truly matters to them.
What sets my brand apart is the unique combination of my formal education and corporate marketing experience. I hold a marketing degree from The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and prior to starting my own business, I worked in social media marketing for Fortune 100 Atlanta-based brands like The Home Depot and Delta Air Lines. Now, I use the skills and strategies I learned to help small business owners.
What I’m most proud of is building a sustainable business where I actually get to enjoy the perks of entrepreneurship (like work-life integration, flexible schedule, and unlimited vacation days) and helping others do the same.
Why this matters to me is I’m a recovering over-achiever turned slow girl who loves to romanticize the little things in life. Since starting my own business, it’s taken a while to “unlearn” hustle culture and the traditional 9-5 mindset. But once I did, it changed everything.
What I want people to know about my brand is that I don’t believe you *have* to have a website, or a professionally designed website at that, to start a business. The daunting task of creating a website shouldn’t stop you from stepping into entrepreneurship.
When beginning the journey of entrepreneurship, it can start to feel like an echo chamber of opinions shouting, “You need to do this.” You set out to make money doing what you’re really good at, and before long, your time is consumed by all the need-to-dos rather than want-to-dos.
But I will tell you straight that I do believe that out of all things marketing, it should be a top priority. Because when you have a website that makes you look legit, helps people find the information they’re looking for, and guides them toward taking action— *that* will help you free up more time and energy for other things.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an Atlantan for eight years, this is such a loaded question!
In terms of food… I am a Ford Fry GIRL. Any of his restaurants are a must in my book when visiting Atlanta— Little Rey, St. Cecilia, Superica, and The Optimist are my favorites.
You also can’t come to Atlanta without trying Antico Pizza.
Here’s an itinerary I would make if my best friend were coming to visit for a chill, relaxing girls’ weekend in the spring:
– Morning workout class at Pure Barre Buckhead
– Breakfast + coffee at Le Bon Nosh
– Massage at Woodhouse Day Spa
– Walk over to Lucy’s Market to check out all their cutie little gifts and treats
– Lunch at Le Bilboquet
– Spend a few hours wandering around Atlanta History Center + Swan House
– Shopping at Shops Around Lenox
– Dinner at Forza Storico
I also have to add that my favorite way to spend a weekend morning is walking the loop at Chastain Park and having breakfast and coffee at The Chastain!
The Painted Pin (duck bowling) in West Midtown is another favorite for entertaining guests, especially if it’s a larger group! And dinner at Barcelona Wine Bar nearby.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad, Tim Litsch, has been a huge inspiration for me jumping into entrepreneurship. He started his own business when I was in eighth grade, and with four growing kids, put it all on the line to go off on his own.
Growing up, I had a unique, front-row view of the power of entrepreneurship while he was building his business. I’ve witnessed the beautiful and challenging journey of entrepreneurship through many stages of life—middle school, high school, college, and into “real” adulthood. I was able to have a realistic view of it all before starting my own.
I know that when they make a sale, an actual person and their family do a happy dance. Kids can have sports lessons, and family vacations can be booked. I also know that it’s not all glitz and glamour, like family dinner being takeout at the conference table on late nights.
That’s why I’m so passionate about the work I do: to help entrepreneurs have an online presence they’re proud of so they can actually enjoy the freedoms of entrepreneurship. Because that’s the reason people start a business in the first place.
My dad has shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to and that it’s possible to design my dream life. He set an incredible example for me as a business owner, which gave me to confidence and courage to make the jump myself!
