We had the good fortune of connecting with Nich Tsalikis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nich, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?

The single most decision I had to make is to be completely me, in every space despite all.
I was a police officer for 6 1/2 years and they owned my voice. I always had to  speak on behalf of my department, whether I agreed with them or not.
That blue uniform had become more important than my brown skin.
I vowed to never again allow a job to dictate what I know to be right and wrong so the only way to ensure that reality was to create my own.

What should our readers know about your business?
God literally guides my steps so I am here out of obedience. My leaving law enforcement was completely unexpected therefore I wasn’t really prepared for what was next. Or so I thought. Turns out my entire life prepared for me for times like today.

When I was 5 years old I asked my dad for some money. He gave me $5.
I said thanks but I want to be able to make my own money so I don’t have to ask you.
That’s where it began.
I started making keychains and when the Dallas Cowboys went to the Super Bowl In 93 I made over $500 selling custom keychains with laminated sporting cards.
That business escalated and I started making wearable Jewelry made with semi precious stones such as; Cats Eye, mother or Pearl, and malachite.
It seems fitting that now I’m selling 18k Gold and VS1 diamonds.

The thing I’m most excited about is the marketing team that is coming together, Communities Build Character.
I believe that feet hitting the pavement through a group of volunteers, giving back to the community, is the best exposure.
My product isn’t the least expensive so my clientele is very specific. This portion of the company allows everyone to benefit not just the ones with coins!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First things first. Seafood at Red Claw with a sunrise margarita.
Fushion Vibes on Wednesday night for Karaoke and Oxtails.
Friday night will consist of Meaningful Conversations about Spirituality and Humanity at Tre Stelle Coffee followed by poetry at Berkshire’s Winery.
The weekend we will do brunch at Royal 38 and Dinner at DJs Steakhouse in Addison.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
