We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelle Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting each of my businesses was driven by a desire to address specific needs that I identified through personal experience and market observation.
For instance, with the Opin’ Facts Podcast, I noticed a gap in the availability of intergenerational perspectives in media. Many people, including myself, were missing the rich insights that come from different age groups interacting and sharing experiences. This realization led me to create a platform that brings these diverse viewpoints together. It began with my mother (60) and I (28) and we focused on bridging the gap between perspectives of different generations.
Similarly, when I founded N.E. Consulting, I saw that many business owners lacked a reliable support system that could function as a physical and strategic extension of their team. I wanted to provide a solution that acts as a ‘body double’ for these entrepreneurs, offering the support they need to thrive. I always felt like I needed a personal assistant and guru that was available to do what I needed only when I needed them to.
Lastly, with Mental Break Rage Room & More, I was motivated by my own frustration in finding a rage room locally. I conducted some preliminary research and found that others shared this frustration, leading me to create a space that would be accessible to anyone looking for a unique way to manage stress and anger.
Each of these ventures was born from a personal or observed need, and they have each been crafted to fill a unique niche and provide meaningful solutions.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’d love to share more about my businesses and what makes them truly special. Each venture has its own story and mission that I’m deeply proud of.
With N.E. Consulting, we’ve crafted a solution for business owners who might not have a full support team. Our approach is like being a ‘body double’—providing both physical and emotional support tailored to each client’s needs. I’m particularly excited about how our personalized service can adapt to the unique challenges each entrepreneur faces, helping them manage their workload and achieve their goals more effectively.
Mental Break Rage Room & More was born from my own need for stress relief and the realization that there wasn’t anything like it in my area. Facing challenges with my personal journey with Fibromyalgia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder made me acutely aware firsthand of the need for effective stress relief options. When I couldn’t find a rage room locally, I decided to create one myself, driven by my own need for relief and understanding of what others might be going through.
What really sets us apart is not just the rage room or paint throw room, but our holistic approach to stress management. We offer a variety of therapeutic activities tailored to help manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional and physical challenges. I’m particularly proud of how we’ve made these resources accessible and engaging for people from all walks of life, offering a supportive space for those who, like me, need effective ways to cope with their own struggles.
Opin’ Facts Podcast was sparked by my passion for bridging generational divides and offering a fresh perspective in the media landscape. I noticed how different age groups often miss out on the rich, shared insights that come from interacting positively with one another. That’s why I created this podcast—to spark meaningful conversations across generations and give listeners a front-row seat to diverse viewpoints and experiences.
What makes this podcast truly special is its ability to blend timeless wisdom with contemporary issues, creating a unique dialogue that’s both enlightening and thought-provoking. I’m thrilled by how it’s become a vibrant platform where listeners can explore the intersection of past and present, finding value and inspiration in every episode.
The lessons I’ve picked up along my journey have been nothing short of transformative. I’ve discovered firsthand how crucial it is to remain flexible and adaptable in business. Networking and relationship-building aren’t just tasks—they’re lifelines that keep everything flowing smoothly. Embracing resilience and learning from failures has been my greatest asset, pushing me to tackle challenges with creativity and a fresh perspective. Every hurdle has underscored the importance of valuing feedback and using it to drive continuous improvement.
What I want the world to know about me and my brands is that they are born from a deep-seated desire to address unmet needs and create meaningful change. My journey highlights the impact of perseverance, creativity, and a steadfast commitment to solving real-world problems. Each of my ventures reflects my core values and my passion for making a positive difference through innovative solutions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting me in Atlanta, I would start our unforgettable week with a laid-back afternoon at Krog Street Market, sampling some local food, getting some pictures in, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. After that, we’d take a relaxing stroll through Grant Park to enjoy its beautiful green spaces and historic charm. That evening, I’d set up a private session with Mental Break Rage Room & More in my backyard, so we could unwind with some fun stress-relief activities. On Day 2, we’d explore Lawrenceville, starting with breakfast at Peachtree Café, then head to explore the Atlanta Botanical Garden and grab lunch at Mary Mac’s Tea Room. After that, we’d explore Freedom Park and World of Coca-Cola, followed by a fantastic dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill and drinks at Red Phone Booth.
Day 3 would start with breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company, then we head over to the High Museum of Art for some impressive exhibits. For brunch, we’d swing by Toast on Lenox, then relax at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. We’d wrap up the day with a show at the Fox Theatre. On Day 4, we’d have brunch at Sunflour Dessert & Coffee, explore the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, and get lunch at J.R. Cricket’s. The afternoon would be perfect for browsing Little Five Points, and the evening would feature catching the latest comedy at Movie Tavern.
On Day 5, we’d start with breakfast at Milk & Honey, then have a picnic at Stone Mountain Park. We’d spend the afternoon exploring the Piedmont Park, and finish the day with dinner and drinks at Two Urban Licks. For Day 6, breakfast at Flying Biscuit Café would be followed by a visit to National Center for Civil and Human Rights and lunch at Slutty Vegan. The afternoon would be spent at Centennial Olympic Park, and we’d experience Downtown’s beautiful views with dinner at The Sun Dial.
Finally, on Day 7, we’d enjoy a leisurely brunch at Suite Food Lounge, then visit Zoo Atlanta. We’d have our final meal at Uncle Jack’s Tavern and end the trip with a relaxed evening at home with some popcorn and wine, reflecting on the week and catching up on some favorite Opin’ Facts Podcast episodes.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my mom has been the cornerstone of my life and career. Her unwavering support and business acumen have profoundly shaped my own mindset and drive. Whether it was her advice during tough times or her encouragement to pursue my dreams, her influence is deeply ingrained in everything I do.
I also want to acknowledge my friends and my tribe, who have been my support army through every challenge and triumph. Their constant encouragement and willingness to stand by me have been invaluable. They’ve cheered me on, offered guidance, and provided a sense of community that has been essential to my growth.
Lastly, my husband deserves special recognition. He is not just my partner but my greatest supporter. His love, patience, and belief in me have been crucial. Honestly, I wouldn’t be doing this interview—or perhaps even pursuing my passions—without his steadfast support. He is my rock and my inspiration.
Each of these people has played a vital role in my story, and I am profoundly grateful for their continued presence and influence in my life.
