Meet Monique & Mallory Polk | Branding, PR, and Marketing Strategists

We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique & Mallory Polk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monique & Mallory, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our thought process behind starting our own business came from a mix of passion, experience, and a desire to make an impact. At 17, we ran our first campaign after losing our cousin in a car accident caused by a distracted driver. That experience opened our eyes to how powerful media and messaging can be in shaping awareness and behavior. The campaign we worked on helped raise awareness about distracted driving and contributed to the initiation of Georgia’s Hands-Free Law. Seeing the real impact of that work showed us how strategic communication can drive change.
That early experience led us to study the field further. Monique earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, and Mallory earned a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing. We realized that branding and marketing weren’t just things we were passionate about but skills we could use to help businesses and influencers build real, authentic connections with their audiences. So, we started Mo&Mal Media to merge strategy with creativity, making sure brands don’t just get seen but actually engage and leave a lasting impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We specialize in helping businesses build strong, authentic brands through a mix of branding, marketing, graphic design, video production, social media management, and virtual assistant services. What sets us apart is our ability to offer a comprehensive range of creative and administrative solutions that support brands in reaching their full potential. From creating engaging visuals to managing social media accounts, we work closely with clients to ensure their brand is cohesive and their story is told effectively across digital platforms.
One of the things we’re most proud of is being able to support businesses not just locally, but across the country. As virtual assistants, we’ve helped brands outside Georgia streamline their operations, manage tasks, and elevate their digital presence. Whether they’re just starting or looking to scale, we’ve been able to make a real impact on their growth.
The journey hasn’t always been easy. There were challenges along the way, like managing multiple clients, learning how to balance creative work with business demands by building a trusted team, and adjusting to working virtually. But through persistence, we’ve refined our processes and learned to adapt to client needs while staying true to our vision.
A big lesson we’ve learned is the importance of flexibility and persistence. The digital landscape is always evolving, and staying ahead of trends and tools is key. We’ve also learned that a balance of creativity, organization, and client communication is essential for success.
At the end of the day, we want people to know that we’re more than just service providers we’re partners in helping businesses grow. Our story is about two twin sisters who turned our passion for creative work and organizational skills into a business that helps brands double their success, no matter where they’re located. We’re excited about what’s ahead and are committed to helping more businesses reach their goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friend was visiting for a week, we’d make sure they had the best time experiencing both the fun and chill sides of ATL.
To start the trip off right, we’d take a morning hike up Stone Mountain. It’s the perfect passive workout. It’s a short hike, but rewarding with amazing views. After freshening up, we’d grab breakfast at Waffle House because, let’s be real, you can’t visit Atlanta without stopping there at least once. It’s a staple, and no matter what you order, you know it’s gonna hit.
After breakfast, we’d have a candle making class scheduled at Lot 23. There’s something about candles that makes any space feel like home, and we love how they let you customize your own personal scent, whether it’s for a candle or a perfume. It’s a fun, creative experience that makes for a great souvenir.
For lunch, we’d head to Rreal Tacos for some daytime vibes good food, good music, and of course, a few cocktails to go with the tacos. After that, we’d probably just relax for the rest of the day, order some pizza, and binge watch a love show on Netflix.
The next day, assuming it’s a Saturday, we might hike Stone Mountain again just to get the day started on a good note. But we’d keep it light on eating out so we can save up for the night ahead. That evening, we’d link up with a few friends and hit Revel to enjoy the nightlife a little.
Sunday would be all about resetting staying in, cooking breakfast, and cleaning up while church plays in the background. Then, to keep the day peaceful but still inspiring, we’d head to the High Museum of Art to walk through the exhibits and take in some creativity before wrapping up the weekend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If we had to give a shoutout, it would definitely go to our parents, who’ve always been our biggest supporters, and our two older sisters, Maya and Morgan. Both of them are entrepreneurs too. Maya is a talented loctician, also known as “auntiejanedidit” and Morgan owns a mobile bartending business called TipsyySipz, both based in Atlanta. Watching them build their businesses has been a huge inspiration for us. They’ve shown us the power of entrepreneurship and hard work, and we’ve learned so much from their journeys. Of course, we also owe a lot to the mentors and people we’ve met along the way, who’ve provided guidance and encouragement. And last but not least, we can’t forget each other. As twins, we’ve always pushed each other to reach our fullest potential, and that partnership has been a huge part of our success.
