We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Rockwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monica, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The biggest lesson SWGA Sickle Cell Awareness taught me is the importance of documenting my work. I went to do research on people who are pioneers in my community but found no records nor material. I make sure my work is also documented in mainstream media and social media. I host events to build a community database for families affected by sickle cell. I have partnered with nonprofit organizations, medical facilities, pharmaceutical companies and educational institutions.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a YouTuber. My channel is a documentary of my life living with Sickle Cell Beta Thalassaemia and Congestive Heart Failure. Playlist (1) Knowledge is Power (2) Food for Medicine (3) Fun Fitness (4) Champion for Telehealth (5) Travel Therapy (6) Leadership and Communication (7) Monica’s Story and Documentary

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Currently my city has a lot of damage and debris so I wouldn’t take them anywhere
