We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Bolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I know this sounds cliché, but start with something you really love to do and know good deal about. Find a community of peers that can contribute to your growing knowledge base. Understand the major points and how to navigate them. you don’t have to Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know, because there’s someone out here that does know. If your vision is clear to you, don’t be afraid to share it. Not all people will get it, but the one’s that do, can give you the spark or connection you need to flourish. I don’t believe in keeping your vision a secret, because you have to be strong enough to believe that its going to work. If few people can dissuade you from pursuing your goals, then you may not be ready to do it anyway. So share your vision. The universe will help you out.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m most proud of that fact that I have remained in the profession, because I enjoy dentistry and I’m good at it. I love educating my patients, because there is so much misinformation out there, people are suffering in silence. It would seem that the advent of the internet would make people more knowledgeable about dental health, but I can see its doing just the opposite. I can also see that untrue information travels way faster than factual information.

I have been doing dentistry for over 20 years, I’ve worked for myself, and I’ve worked for other people. The changes I have seen in the industry are massive. From an operations stand point, I have seen the mismanagement of resources and from a patient standpoint, I have seen the public completely lose confidence in the dental community. So much so, that they will go to non-licensed, illegal operations for help. They have also started leaving the country to see individuals that may or may not be licensed in their own country.

Dental practices are bound by dental insurance contracts. The offices that are smart enough not to associate with dental insurance will be the best operations for the public’s well being in the future. The are not bound by the rules and pay structures, they are able to offer the non-insured public better access.

Dentistry In Motion LLC wants everyone to have great oral and dental health and a smile that they are proud of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love great food, some of my favs for food and drinks are Poor Calvins in Midtown, Southern National in Summerhill, Stone Bowl and H-mart food court in Doraville, Storico Fresco Alimentari in Buckhead. Bartaco is a mainstay, and my new fav Talat Market in Grant Park. Hangouts would be Colony Square, High Museum on Fridays, Top Golf, Atlantic Station the Beacon in Grant Park.

Fun Pickleball courts all over the city, a great way to meet new people, get a workout in and have fun. Catch the Atlanta Open in Atlantic Station, or a play or concert at the Fox.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give my Mom a lot of credit. The books I’ve read that have given me the space to build confidence and grow: Inner Engineering, Change your thoughts change your life, A New Earth, The Power of Now, The Untethered Soul, Think and Grow Rich, The Millionaire Next Door,
