We had the good fortune of connecting with Mona Deloach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mona, what do you attribute your success to?
Wow, this is a question. I run multiple businesses, but the most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is believing that all things are possible and that happiness and liberation exist and are attainable. My upbringing was rough; it was very similar to the upbringing of many other little Black girls growing up in poverty and surrounded by adults covered in generational trauma. By the time I was 18, I was anxious, depressed, severely traumatized, and in survival mode. I always fought to be successful, but it wasn’t until I was in my mid-20s that I realized being successful (married, working, hustling, and raising a child) simply wasn’t enough; it didn’t bring me peace, it didnt take away the trauma and I wasn’t happy.

In each of my businesses, whether I am reading tarot, life coaching, business coaching, or helping someone transform their career, I prioritize helping others feel seen and showing them that their worth is far greater than they realize. Every service I provide includes sound life advice, tips, and techniques that I spent years—literally decades—learning through books, seminars, mentors, and personal experience to help me attain a better quality of life when I didn’t think it was possible.

Even through reading tarot and offering spiritual mentorship, I demonstrate that it’s okay to explore what spirituality means to them and to heal the inner child within those of us who were drawn to magic and spiritual things as kids but had parents who went to great lengths to extinguish that flame. This spiritual knowledge is a generational gift that was present in our lineage until relatively recently. My great-grandmother was a spiritualist and root worker, but none of her practices were shared with us.

What sets my approach apart is my dedication to personal growth and authenticity. I believe that true success comes from aligning your life with your passions and values. By integrating these principles into my businesses, I empower my clients to confidently pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles. I also emphasize the importance of community and support, fostering an environment where individuals can connect, share their experiences, and uplift one another.

My ultimate goal is not just to provide services but to inspire a transformation that leads to lasting fulfillment and self-discovery. By sharing my journey and the lessons I’ve learned, I hope to light the way for others to find their own paths to happiness and liberation. I also do this so my kids can see what hard work and dedication look like. They’re convinced that we are rich and famous, and even my 4- and 5-year-olds are already talking about the businesses they will start and how they plan to succeed. I did not have that luxury as a child. I watched my mother hustle and I learned how to grind by any means necessary, but I did not have the example of watching her run a brand or share her gifts with the world. So, in addition to supporting others to thrive, I am breaking a generational curse and instilling new values in my children.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my unwavering commitment to helping people realize and actualize their highest potential. My primary goal is to support collective growth and foster a sense of love and belonging because I have struggled and witnessed many others struggle to do the same. Although I would do this work for free, my skills, time, and knowledge are valuable, so I don’t. I treat every encounter as an opportunity to uplift and transform someone’s experiences.

It took me about nine years to realize that the services I was providing for friends—such as writing resumes, papers, doing hair, and eventually creating training programs, business plans, designing websites and logos, and reading tarot—were actually the foundation of a business. As I grew and learned how to navigate life, succeed in my career, and build my businesses, I shared those skills with others to help them do the same. I absolutely loved it!

The most difficult thing for me was learning to take myself seriously, validate my years and decades of experience, and translate that into functional businesses. I am still learning, still growing, and still working through imposter syndrome and all the challenges that come with it. Even writing this article is super exciting because I recently had a professional photoshoot to showcase my businesses, unlike six months ago when I did another article and had no professional photos.

All of my business challenges have been overcome through hard work, networking, and consistently showing up. In 2024, my focus is on being unapologetic in my approach, regulating my emotions, and not worrying about how others perceive what I do. This approach is working. I want the world to know that if you are looking to grow and transform in any area of your life, I am here to help. I have spent the past ten years learning, attending seminars, researching, enduring endless nights of crying, and networking with people who were struggling in the same way.

There is no excuse for living an unsatisfied life, and it’s much easier to attain a fulfilling one than to endure a life where you are unhappy. My mission is to help you fix it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Memphis, TN, my friend would have to be ready for a laid-back and liberating experience. We’ll walk barefoot at Shelby Farms, picnic by the lake, and enjoy canoeing and ziplining. We’ll play wind instruments at Hinton Park in Collierville, visit the many plant nurseries, and explore all the quirky shops and stores in Midtown. We’ll definitely drop by to see my friend Shu and enjoy some rich conversations and good vibes. I spend a lot of time outdoors, visiting places like the Lichterman Nature Center and Dixon Gardens. I’ll be cooking at home or outdoors with fresh ingredients from the farmers market. Before she leaves, we have to stop by One and Only for the best BBQ in Memphis. If we’re feeling adventurous, we’ll head to Nashville to hike at Radnor Lake State Park and grab burgers at Culver’s, which always reminds me of my hometown in Wisconsin.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I would love to give credit to, but I want to offer my highest praises to my husband. We’ve been married since we were 20, and the growth and evolution we’ve experienced over the past 11 years has been tremendous. This incredible Black man has shown me that there are no excuses for refusing to advance in life and that Black men do, indeed, heal. My life’s journey has been difficult, but his support and presence have made it so much more beautiful. He has healed to provide me with a softer life and a richer experience. He is my best friend, my life coach, my business coach, and so much more. He is also dedicated to helping others heal, grow, and build a strong community. Having him as a partner truly embodies being blessed beyond measure.
