Today we’re excited to be connecting with Milk + Sizz Hornsby again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Milk + Sizz, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
We’re MILK + SIZZ, partners in life and creativity, and the founders of DRFT Farm. While many know us for our careers as Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning music creatives, DRFT Farm is a continuation of our artistic journey. Our creative spirit, nurtured through years of production, songwriting, and live music curation, now finds expression in cultivating a space where sustainability, connection, and creativity thrive. We believe intentional living is the foundation for boundless creativity.

At DRFT Farm, we strive to create experiences that inspire reconnection—with yourself, your creativity, the earth, and the people around you. From Picked + Plated gatherings to planting sessions or even a quiet walk through the land, every offering is designed to spark reflection and nurture growth.

The path to building DRFT Farm has been deeply rewarding, though not without challenges. Along the way, we’ve raised two remarkable children, Makena and Kazha Thumbi, who remind us daily of the importance of this work. One of our most impactful moments was transforming our son’s baby shower into a platform to raise awareness about Black maternal health. That experience shaped our commitment to aligning personal milestones with purpose, a principle that continues to guide everything we do.

DRFT Farm is a creative haven, a legacy in the making, and an invitation to embrace a more intentional way of life. Every seed we sow and story we share reflects the love, resilience, and vision that drives us. We’re honored to welcome you to this journey and to the peace and inspiration waiting here.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since our last conversation, we’ve been deeply focused on expanding DRFT Farm’s impact and purpose. We believe creativity thrives when nurtured with intention—what we consume, in every sense, influences what we create. That’s why we’re committed to more than growing food; we’re cultivating immersive experiences designed to inspire and empower.

A key part of this evolution is SNDBRD—a creative haven at the heart of the farm. Designed as a sanctuary for musicians, artists, and innovators, SNDBRD will feature a world-class recording studio, pre-production facilities, and dedicated spaces for scoring and sound design. It’s a space where art and nature intersect seamlessly, sparking inspiration in new and meaningful ways.

This isn’t just about making music; it’s about building a community rooted in collaboration and creativity. From joint experiences and intimate festivals to innovative partnerships, SNDBRD honors its origins while exploring new possibilities. As construction begins, we’re excited to partner with those who share our vision and invite you to join us in shaping a legacy of connection, artistry, and innovation.

What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
The perfect day starts with a quiet morning walk on DRFT Farm, enjoying the sounds of nature and taking in the beauty of what we’ve built together. We might even steal a few moments for a quiet brainstorming session, picking herbs and sketching out a new song idea under the old oak tree, drawing inspiration from the tranquility of the surroundings. Then, we’d spend time creating—whether it’s working on a new recipe, tending to the farm, or building out a creative idea. Sharing moments with our family, like cooking together or playing games with our daughter, is key. The day would end with a meaningful gathering, hosting guests at the farm for an experience that connects them to nature, creativity, food, and community. It’s a balance of creation, connection, and calm, much like the rhythm of life on the farm itself.
