Meet Mike Worthy | Chef Mike Worthy and Chef Jai; Worthy Catering.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Worthy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My wife and I decided to put the hard work into ourselves! After so many years of working for others and helping build franchises but not getting recognition it was time for us to start our own. We understand when it comes to doing it for yourself it may take longer but this is a business we’re committed to building not only for ourselves but to ensure the future of our kids success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Like stated before we started our Business “Worthy Catering” in 2019. Originally we presented our business as “Byrd Eats Millis Treats” but that’s a different part of the story. Our love and passion is what sets us apart from others. After being in the industry for fifteen years I’ve seen plenty of people that just cook for a check; we cook to spread love and happiness. There’s nothing like good food and the reaction of our clients. To be able to change someone’s day with a good meal is another level of accomplishments. With the everyday battle of maintaining in this society and taking care of a family, I’ve been back and forth still nurturing someone else’s business while trying to get the proper funds to support mine. We went through a rough patch after losing our food trailer that was growing very quickly in the Atlanta area due to not planning correctly but we live and learn. Building something for yourself from the ground up will never be easy!!! Still not in the exact place we predicted but haven’t allowed that to discourage us. It’s about consistency! Just keep going and it’ll pay off one day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Terrica Walker; owner of “WalkerRunOutdoor”. She’s been one of our biggest supporters from the beginning which started 2019.
Alexis Dismuke owner of “ShootHoopsNotGuns” and “BossesRus”
Aisha Robinson owner of “EsGarden”
Grandma Dorothy Smothers “Madea”
Most important our Kids Alaya, Michae’l Jr, Aylaa, Royce, and King! Their the reason we decide to keep going especially with the interest they show in taking over the business one day.
