We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Joseph Valerie Seibert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle Joseph, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success is discipline. Having discipline is simply doing the thing you need to do consistently whether you feel like it or not which is the key to long-term success. . When you have a why for what you do, harnessing discipline becomes easy. “Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” – Abraham Lincoln

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a Communications and Events agency servicing clients in the sports and entertainment industry. Our intimate knowledge of trends and culture is what sets us apart from others. Getting to where we are now business-wise was not easy. In our industry, we have to do a lot of networking, and it can be discouraging when you are receiving no response. Sometimes you have to follow up with people four or five times. Every day has been a learning experience for us, and we’re still coming up with basic rules that will make our business stronger. When you’re a business owner, you have to be firm with your decisions, or your clients will not take you seriously. Valerie and I overcome challenges together. We talk about our different options and choose the best outcome.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my guests to Ponce City Market, which is a nice area to hang out; it has nice little shops and several dining options to choose from. Then from Ponce, we would go to the sugar factory so they can try their crafty drinks. I would then take them to a stand-up comedy show at Oak lounge on Friday evening and suggest they try the shrimp alfredo if they haven’t been exhausted from the trip yet.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely say my college professor deserves some recognition. She was a mentor to me without the mentor title. She still checks in on me and presents opportunities to me whenever she comes across them.
