We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Cross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is possibly the most important factor to success. In order to take risks, you must have the courage to face uncertainty. I founded my law firm fresh out of law school during the middle of a global pandemic with zero legal experience. This was the riskiest decision I have ever made and it was also the best decision I ever made.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of the clients I get to represent. I get to help my clients prevent DUI and Drug charges from ruining their lives. I started my firm in the height of Covid-19 when most bars and restaurants were shutdown. My practice focus is criminal-defense, specifically DUI defense. With the bars being closed, my potential for clients was scarce. However, after being in practice for only 6 months, I managed to acquire over 100 new cases. I am honored that my clients trust me to handle their important legal issues and I love nothing more than getting excellent results for them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Atlanta and I love living here. If I wanted to show at out-of-towner a good time, I would start by taking them to the Krog Street Market for some coffee and pastries. Then I would probably head to Phipps Plaza or Lenox Mall to do some shopping. My favorite evening spots are Kyma Restaurant and Café Intermezzo. Kyma has the best food in our city, in my opinion, and Café Intermezzo makes you feel as close to Paris as possible without being in Europe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would absolutely not be where I am today without the support of my friends and family. My parents, Angela and Bill Cross, and my three older brothers, JJ, Robby, and William Cross listened to me cry and complain everyday of my law school and bar exam prep journey. They gave me support, guidance, and advice about where to go and what to do. I would call my mom or my brothers each night after I got out of class, which was usually around 10:00PM, and tell them how much I hated my life and how badly I wanted to quit law school. They encouraged me everyday and they’re the reason I stuck with it and didn’t give up.
