Meet Mia Onyeuku-Johnson | Owner/Operator of The Opulent Oasis Spa LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mia Onyeuku-Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel the only way to make it in life is by taking risks. Yes it is a challenge to take a risk on starting a new venture. But the rewards are endless if you work at it. In life and career, calculated risks can lead to growth, innovation, and progress. Taking risks has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and has also resulted in valuable lessons, whether I succeed or fail.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Opulent Oasis Spa, Atlanta’s premier mobile spa service. Our mission is to provide a sanctuary of serenity, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in pure luxury. We stress the importance of seeing and treating your body as luxury. I am proud of starting this new venture and taking the leap of faith on myself. I feel that I have gotten where I am today because of me building great business partnerships, networking and collaborating with successful individuals, and my loyal clientele from previous ventures. No, it isn’t easy starting a new venture my biggest challenge was making sure that I attract the clientele that are looking for quality spa services and willing to pay for quality. To overcome this challenge I researched the numbers on what high end services are trendy and I integrated some spa services that are offered from different parts of the world. I have learned along the way in the spa business you have to be passionate about what you do and live it. I have been in the SelfCare industry since 2010 and with this new venture I am building a team of esteemed professionals to provide luxury massage, opulent body treatments, luminous facials and more! We cater to the Ageless (55+) as well providing specific treatments & modalities within the assisted/independent living communities. The brand is built off the saying “See Yourself as Luxury, Treat Yourself as Luxury”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Ponce City Market and Beltline Area. I love the views, the culture, the serene atmosphere. We would probably start with a morning walk on the beltline, stop at Krog St. Market to grab a smoothie, Soak up some Sunshine ☀️. For Lunch, go to La Fonda for the outdoor dining and their delicious salmon tacos and cannot forget a Sangarita on a hot day! Later on go explore the shops in Ponce City Market then can’t leave without stopping by Bar Vegan for their awesome Signature Cocktails. End the night at The James Room eating the best food prepared by Chef Janee’ listening to some great tunes and enjoying good vibes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Everhart-Chappelle Group is an amazing networking group I recently joined. Shout Out to Antoine for being a mentor to help me along my journey. The group of entrepreneurs as a whole have been very supportive and helpful. I have built nothing but positive feedback, positive business relationships and even referrals from this group of individuals. Encouragement brings momentum & Momentum brings success!!
