We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Nou. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to risk, I am all in. I love the feeling of breaking out of my comfort zone and trying something new. This can be anything from traveling to a new country by myself to starting a new job in a new city- hence, reason I now live in Atlanta.
Risk is all about the drive to push myself and see what I can achieve. I’m still taking risks on a daily basis to achieve my goals. When I was 21 years old, I moved from my home base of Massachusetts to New York City, knowing absolutely no one. It was definitely a scary move, but it was also an exciting one. And you know what? I survived and ended up loving my time in NYC.
I understand risks can be intimidating, but it’s also incredibly rewarding and that’s what risk-taking is all about for me— proving to myself that I can handle anything. It’s about breaking out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to new limits. Sure, there’s always the possibility of failure, but that’s what makes it so exciting
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I made the move to New York City in 2015 and teamed up with a company that allows me to focus on working as a traveling professional makeup artist. For years, I traveled between the states of Massachusetts, New York, and Rhold Island I’ve worked backstage in multiple types of different settings, including fashion shows, video sets, and photo shoots. Some of my main clients still are former Congress woman, “Gabrielle Giffords,” Actress- Emmy Award winner, “Kira Reed Lorsch,” and a couple board members of “Make A Wish Foundation” campaign.
Whenever I see a really cool building, the artistry and interior design always amaze me. It’s fascinating to see how much work goes into making a structure look so amazing. Some of my clients’ homes or hotels I’ve been to have truly incredible designs, and I’m always inspired by the work of great architects.
It’s safe to say that my love for The Sims was born out of my love for real estate. I would watch hours of HGTV, dreaming of the day that I could own my own home. I would then take that passion to The Sims, where I could build and design to my heart’s content. There’s something about creating a space – whether it’s a home or a room – that just feels so fulfilling. And I’ve continued to stay interested in real estate throughout my adult life!
I’m passionate about selling homes and providing families with “The American Dream.” I believe that the foundation of any successful professional relationship is built upon mutual goals involving transparency, integrity, and respect.
What sets me apart in the real estate business is my dedication to creating a valuable and stress-free experience for my clients. Selling or buying a home can be a very emotional process, and I believe that it’s important to have a REALTOR who understands this and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that their clients are taken care of. Whether it’s providing guidance during the search process, negotiating on behalf of my clients, or being available 24/7 for support, I am always working to put my clients’ needs first.
I have extensive background with client services and sales, which provides me with a unique perspective when it comes to building meaningful relationships with others
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If Bethzaida were visiting, on Monday we would go to BBQ and then catch up on a show. On Tuesday we would go to the museum and check out some new exhibits. Wednesday would be a day trip to Savanna, where we would beach and maybe do some shopping. Thursday would be another relaxed day, where we would just stay in and maybe watch some more Netflix. Finally, on Friday we would go out for our final night together. Few restaurants I’d like to take her are “Hal’s Steakhouse” “Le Colonial” “Rumi’s Kitchen” and I know loves Korean BBQ so definitely “Thrill”!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First & foremost I am so grateful to GOD, alongside my mother’s and brother’s support of my entrepreneurship journey. They have been so uplifting and loving, and it means the world to me. My brother has given me some of the best advice especially when it comes to being patient, I know 100% I can count on him! I’m also grateful for my partner’s support. He has a successful business called “Vaped” with multiple locations in Georgia. He’s so driven and smart and I love watching him achieve his goals. He gives me great business strategies that I learn from and apply to my own business. Honestly, even my friends, they are my personal cheerleaders, I’d have to say my best friend is definitely the “hype man”, I’ve honestly been blessed with the company I keep.
