Meet Meagan Skerchock | Founder & CEO of Perspectiv, Inc.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meagan Skerchock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meagan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind Perspectiv’s success is, without a doubt, people. I have always said that this company is built on relationships and I believe that’s true of any lasting business. I won’t dismiss the old proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Its meaning is clear as it pertains to both children and startups. In our case, it hasn’t just taken a village — it’s taken entire school districts, towns, families, and corporate partners who share both our belief in this mission and a deep commitment to advancing it. I may be steering the ship, but mentors, educators, parents, students, employers, and entire communities have helped chart the course.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Perspectiv was founded to help students make more informed, confident decisions about their futures. Too many young people feel pressure to choose a path without truly understanding the breadth of career opportunities available to them or what those jobs actually look like day to day. Perspectiv exists to bridge that gap.
We produce high-quality, in-depth career interviews with real professionals across a wide range of industries. Students don’t just hear what a job is—they see the work, understand the pathway, learn about compensation, challenges, lifestyle, and long-term growth. Our goal is not to steer students away from college or toward any one path, but to empower them to make deliberate, informed decisions that align with their skills, interests, and values.
What sets Perspectiv apart is the depth and authenticity of our storytelling. These aren’t stock career blurbs or surface-level overviews. They are thoughtful, well-produced conversations that respect students’ intelligence and curiosity. We also work closely with schools and districts to ensure our content reflects real opportunities within their own communities, strengthening the connection between education and local workforce needs.
Business-wise, growth has been anything but easy. Like many startups, closing deals with administrators was only part of the challenge. Implementation—earning teacher buy-in and ensuring consistent classroom use—proved to be just as critical. We’ve had to listen carefully, iterate constantly, and build real relationships with the educators we serve. That process has shaped the company in meaningful ways.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that relationships are everything. Schools are not just customers; they are partners in shaping students’ futures. Trust takes time. Impact takes consistency. And building something meaningful requires resilience—especially in the early years.
What I’m most proud of is the feedback from students who say, “I didn’t know this career existed,” or “This made me think differently about my future.” If Perspectiv can reduce anxiety, decision paralysis, or unnecessary debt—even for a small percentage of students—then we’re doing something worthwhile.
What I want the world to know is this: success looks different for everyone. There are countless high-paying, high-demand, deeply meaningful careers that don’t require a traditional four-year degree—and there are also many that do. Perspectiv isn’t anti-college or anti-anything. We are pro-awareness, pro-agency, and pro-purpose. Our mission is simple: help students see clearly, choose wisely, and build lives that are fulfilling and sustainable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has so much to offer, but I’m definitely more at home in the middle of a forest than in the middle of the city. I am, however, a huge foodie—so we’d absolutely go on what I like to call a “food-eating spree.” We’d make our way through some of the best spots in the city before catching a performance by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (a 27-time Grammy Award winner, by the way). We’d also have to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden—especially if Elemental Exhibitions has something beautiful on display. A walk along the BeltLine would be mandatory. If she were visiting this season, I might even take her to a performance of The Twilight of the Gods, because what are ride-or-dies for if not enduring six-hour operas?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely. I owe a debt of gratitude to my mentor, Rad Harrell. I met Rad through the ATDC (Advanced Technology Development Center) at Georgia Tech, where he serves as a Startup Catalyst and Coach. With his guidance, Perspectiv grew from its earliest school partnerships to serving dozens of K-12 schools across multiple states. In our second year, we increased revenue fivefold. As Perspectiv evolves, Rad has been instrumental in helping us grow strategically while maximizing our positive impact. As a first-time founder, I’ve been especially thankful for the confidence and resilience he has instilled in me to keep pushing forward. It’s no secret that startups aren’t for the faint of heart, but the right coach can not only minimize the pain—they can make the journey genuinely enjoyable and the experience deeply rewarding.
