We had the good fortune of connecting with Masiah Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Masiah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was to get started right away, I knew that I had to prepare myself for the obstacles that comes with owning a clothing brand. I started to look around for names once I found a good name which is “Hoodrxch Slime Clothing, I created an Instagram account for my clothing brand. The Instagram account is “Hoodrxchslimeclothing”, also our website for our brand is www.hoodrxxchslimeclothing.com. I started getting test designs made and posting them to my personal Instagram account asking others their opinions on my designs. Once I get a decent amount of opinions I decide wether I want the designs added to my website or not depending on the opinions of others. One of my top selling items is my “Hoodrxch Slime Hoodies” Which dropped last year in 2021. We are currently getting ready for a restock for the hoodies on July 20th, 2022 Which will be Red/Reflective & Black&Reflective.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a 20 year old from New Jersey but I reside in Waldorf, Maryland, What’s sets me apart from others is I like to take my time with my ideas I don’t like to rush into everything because everything has a process to it no matter how long it takes. I’m most excited that I got my brand started at least because there’s a lot you have to do when you first start. You have to get a target group, you need designs, alot of supplies for your designs. To me personally it wasn’t easy getting started and we’re not quite at where we want to be as of now but eventually we will get there We took a break during the end of 2021 and that took a toll on the process of us growing but eventually everything will get back to how it was. Also I’ve learned to not expect good opinions from everybody not everyone sees your vision and there’s nothing wrong with that because everybody views things differently. I want the world to know that we are a black owned clothing brand and we were established in 2021.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Around my area there aren’t really any spots to go unless we go to another city but food places , maybe the bowling alleys , the malls aren’t that good around this area so I wouldn’t really recommend this area to anybody

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out another clothing brand by the name of “ Plugged in dk clothing brand “ you can find him on Instagram @dkclothingdmv , not only does he have his own clothing brand but he also prints designs for others which he did for my clothing brand “hoodrxch slime clothing”
