We had the good fortune of connecting with Marqita Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marqita, what principle do you value most?
I want to encourage and inspire people to not only dream big but do pursue their dreams and passions and fulfill their purpose in life. It’s a value of mine because I feel like life is meant for us to inspire and uplift each other.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actor and I love what I do because I get to bring stories to life by using my imagination, experience, and creativity. Being in this industry isn’t easy, you definitely need to have tough skin. You hear no more than you hear yes and so having a great support system of friends and family who encourage you I believe really helps you to push forward. Challenges are ineveitable but I believe they are a necessary part of life because it creates opportunities to grow, perspective is everything! You have to believe in yourself and you can’t let rejection define who you are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm that’s a tough one, I’m definitely a foodie and love shopping, so I would love to take them on a little food tour breakfast at Little Rey, pizza from Varuni Napoli, and The Garden Room for drinks just to name a few. Also, hit the trails for a walk, catch a movie, and maybe hit up a vineyard.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my friends and family who consistently encourage, inspire, and uplift me.
