We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlana Semenza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marlana, what do you attribute your success to?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an international personal brand photographer who has a degree in photography (yup, we do exist! lol) and over 20 years of experience behind the lens. My career has also included advertising, location scouting, set stying and design all while photographing multiple genres along the way. I use all of these elements to tell my clients stories in their most powerful way. My client base has included athletes, celebrities, WWE Superstars and public figures such as Miss North Carolina. I believe that you have a personal brand by default or by design and I want to put my clients’ hands firmly on the wheel so they can steer that brand in the direction they want it to go. So, what sets me apart is the fact that I’m not in the photography business. I’m in the reputation business. Two other things that set me apart are the visual strategy piece…it’s much more than pointing a camera at my clients…and also the fact that I can now work with anyone, anywhere….virtually. You can visit photographerinyourpocket.com for more info. Was this journey easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes. But what it gave me is the belief in the people I work with. The desire to see them succeed and be all that they should and can be. The desire to help them shine and be seen in a unique way for the best of who they are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a big believer in custom experiences. So, where I would take you, show you, would always depend on who you are ;). Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
