We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking is essential if you want to reach the next level of success in your business and life. As most entrepreneurs know, entrepreneurship is anything but comfortable. Most of the time, you’re being forced outside of your comfort zone and faced with risky decisions that can sometimes feel very daunting and intimidating. With that being said, taking risks has played a massive role in my career, from just deciding to put a business out there to sign an office lease and investing large sums of money into my business. Nearly every part of my entrepreneurial journey has involved some risk. I feel so grateful to have decided to take risks. They have propelled me in ways I could never have imagined!
What should our readers know about your business?
I own a holistic healing practice that operates out of Nashville, TN. I work with people both in-person and online. My practice consists of modalities such as energy healing, sound healing, and breathwork. It brings me so much excitement to spread this healing work and reach the people who need it most. When working with a client, my goal is to provide them the guidance, support, and tools to begin healing themselves naturally. It brings me a tremendous amount of fulfillment and joy to walk alongside my clients as they heal anxieties, patterns, and traumas that they have held onto for years.
I got to where I am today with my business through following my intuition, holding onto my vision, and operating with pure intentions. To think that just a year ago, I was renting space when needed and slowly building up my client list is wild! Today I have my healing studio located in Nashville, TN, work with clients worldwide online, and am introducing this work to new people every week! I feel so purpose-filled sharing this work with the world!
I have found that there are highs and lows to owning a business. Sometimes it feels effortless; other times, challenges present themselves. I have overcome the challenges that have presented themselves along the way because of my inner knowing that spreading this work is part of my purpose. Knowing this, and holding this vision close to my heart has made it so much easier for me to power through challenging times.
Through this entrepreneurial journey, I have learned so much about life, business, and myself. Business-wise, my biggest takeaway has been, do it right the first time! You will save so much time and energy in the long run. As for what I’ve learned personally, It would have to be boundaries! Whether that be boundaries with clients or setting boundaries for myself around work-life balance. It’s safe to say as an entrepreneur; you’re always learning!
I want anyone reading this to know that breaking free from anxiety, depression, and past trauma is 100% possible. When you feel like you’ve tried everything, it can feel like you’re “stuck” forever but, you’re not! There is no right path for healing, you have to find what works for you, but this work has changed my life and many others! I am excited to continue spreading awareness of this work and healing as a dance through life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, first we would start at breakfast. Frothy Monkey always delivers with quality lattes and and amazing food! Next, I would take her on hike right outside of the city. Machine falls is always a great option! You get to enjoy a fairly easy hike, and end with a beautiful water. Ideally the weather would be warm so we can take a quick dip under the falls! Later that evening we would get dressed up and go for a nice dinner and drinks. True Food Kitchen is one of my favorites, basic but healthy and yummy!
