We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Roebuck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

The way I think about risk is, How BIG is the REWARD! And do I really want it, because there’s many sacrifices in how big the Risk is.

I want the best! So, you have to hustle for it. You have to be a savage and relentless. Risks have created me as I stand today. I have the necessary tools from my experience, education, and life lessons to dominate my construction industry. I’ve been able to transition from my sports background into the “corporate world’, in my way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My company is called GAMETIME Construction, we are a General Contractor. We specialize in Electrical, Concrete, and Carpentry, as well as Demolition. We’re licensed in a few states Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas.

I don’t see others as competition, I see me being great. I don’t compare myself to others, I go get it how it comes to me. I’m most excited about making more progress everyday as we scale from state to state, currently we’re licensed in 5 states. I got to where I am today, because I experienced a lot of bad bosses, managers, and that wasn’t easy. What it boils down to is how people handle/mishandle responsibilities. I’ve overcame those challenges by doing things the way I do them. I’m nice, respectful, reasonable and fair, I understand every risk down to my friendships which is the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I want the world to know that I wake up to be great!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would interest them to eat breakfast at Buttermilk Kitchen, have lunch and drinks at Papadueax and dinner and drinks at Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint. Since working out is the lifestyle, go check in with my guy Miguel Philips over at Men’s Wellness League then get a afternoon workout at Stone Mountain. I love going to the Georgia Aquarium and Human Rights Museum. And we have to check in with our world famous 2021 world champions Atlanta Braves, that’s a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my wife , my dad, and my partners Alfred Purifoy and Quentin Lusby (We are an innovative group.), and all my family friends and colleagues. I definitely have a great group of people around me that are inspiring to say the least.
