Meet Marc Apple | Founder, Forward Push Law Firm Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Apple and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marc, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Running Forward Push Law Firm Marketing has come with plenty of ups and downs. There were days I genuinely didn’t feel like coming into work. Not because the vision was gone, but because the weight of responsibility was heavy. And on those days, I had a simple realization: if I didn’t show up, nothing was going to get done.
That clarity matters. When people depend on you—clients, employees, partners—quitting isn’t just about walking away from an idea. It’s about walking away from commitments you chose to make. For me, that responsibility became fuel on the hardest days.
I’ve learned that lack of motivation isn’t a signal to stop. It’s usually a signal that the work matters. The difference between giving up and pushing through often comes down to ownership. If the problem is mine to solve, then staying in the fight is part of the job.
You keep going when the work still has purpose, even when the passion dips. You give up when you’re avoiding responsibility or chasing something that no longer aligns with who you’re building for.
Most of the time, the answer isn’t quitting. It’s showing up anyway.

What should our readers know about your business?
Forward Push Law Firm Marketing is an AI-first agency built specifically for law firms. From the beginning, the goal was never to be another generalist marketing shop. The legal industry is too nuanced for that. Ethics rules, client behavior, competition, and trust all operate differently here, and our entire model is designed around those realities.
What truly sets us apart is how deeply we integrate AI into strategy, execution, and decision-making. We use AI to move faster, think clearer, personalize at scale, and eliminate wasted effort, but never at the expense of quality or judgment. AI is not a shortcut for us. It is a force multiplier for experience, strategy, and consistency. That approach allows us to help law firms compete with much larger firms without burning through massive budgets.
I am also the author of two books focused on legal marketing and growth. Writing them forced me to pressure-test everything we do. If I could not explain it clearly, ethically, and practically to attorneys, it did not belong in our process. Those books reflect how we operate as an agency: no hype, no gimmicks, just strategies that actually work when applied consistently.
Getting to this point was not easy. Like most founders, I went through slow periods, uncertainty, and moments where nothing felt stable. There were days I did not want to show up, but I learned quickly that if I did not, nothing moved forward. Ownership became the turning point. When something failed, I stopped looking for excuses and started looking for better decisions. That mindset shaped both me and the company.
Along the way, I learned that focus beats effort. Narrowing our niche to law firms, saying no to misaligned work, and committing to building systems instead of reacting to chaos changed everything. I also learned that trust matters more than tactics. Law firms do not need another promise. They need a partner who understands their world and tells them the truth.
What I am most proud of is the reputation we have built. Forward Push Law Firm Marketing is an Inc. 5000 award-winning agency, but more importantly, clients stay because they feel informed, supported, and confident in the direction of their marketing.
What I want the world to know about me and this brand is simple. We are building the future of legal marketing responsibly, intelligently, and with intention. AI is part of that future, but integrity and clarity will always come first.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d keep things centered around Decatur and Atlanta and focus on good food, live sports, and just spending time together.
One of the first places I’d take them is Kindred in Decatur. It’s a go-to spot for great food and drinks and an easy place to settle in and catch up.
If the Braves were in town, we’d absolutely go to a game. Same with Atlanta United if they were playing at home. The BeltLine would also be on the list for walking, people-watching, and stopping in wherever looks interesting.
A few nights would be about keeping it simple. Brick Store Pub for beer and conversation, a good dinner somewhere local, maybe catching some live music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One of the biggest influences on my growth has been being part of a mastermind made up of marketing agency owners and founders.
Spending time with people who are actively building at a high level changes how you think. These are operators who don’t sugarcoat feedback. They challenge assumptions, call out blind spots, and raise the standard for what good leadership and execution actually look like.
What’s been most valuable is perspective. When you’re deep in the day-to-day of running a company, problems can feel bigger than they are. Being in consistent conversations with peers who have faced similar challenges and worked through them helps you see issues more clearly and make better decisions faster.
A lot of the progress at Forward Push can be traced back to lessons learned in those rooms. Not tactics or hacks, but better thinking, better accountability, and a clearer sense of what kind of business I want to build.
Success rarely happens alone. Having the right people around you who are willing to be honest, not just supportive, makes a real difference.
