We had the good fortune of connecting with Maiya Ali and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maiya, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
The best way to find out whether you should keep going or give up is to have an honest conversation with yourself. For example, if I have a goal I’ve been struggling to achieve, I decide to have a heart-to-heart with myself. I start to imagine what my life would look like if I stopped pursuing this goal altogether. How would it make me feel? If I start feeling a tremendous wave of relief, then it may be a sign it’s time to let it go. However, if I feel regret or sadness, it likely means this goal still holds meaning for me; I just haven’t perfected my plans yet. That inner conversation constantly keeps me going, especially when I feel like I’ve hit a creative slump in my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to organization and passion for my clients. When I started this business, it certainly wasn’t easy. There were many adjustments to be made and challenges to overcome. But I welcomed the need to evolve and make changes when necessary.

As a business owner, I’ve learned to embrace change and constantly refine my approach. My organizational skills allow me to develop efficient systems that improve results for clients. My passion for helping my clients achieve their goals keeps me motivated to go above and beyond. I genuinely care about each person I work with and make it my mission to fully understand their needs. My clients have an individualized plan that works for their particular brand/business and the digital presence they want to develop. That’s why I love what I do!

My dedication has enabled me to build strong relationships over the years. I love seeing my clients succeed and take pride in knowing I played a role in their brand’s growth. Though the road to get here had its fair share of bumps, the rewards make every challenge worthwhile! I’m proud of the business I’ve built through hard work, adaptability, and commitment to delivering excellence. And I look forward to continuing to evolve as needs change to better serve my clients in the years to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has a plethora of hidden gems, so it’s hard to narrow down just a few! However, I do have some places that are top of mind. First, we’ll start the day by getting coffee at Finca de Filter, a charming little café in Old Fourth Ward known for their cozy atmosphere and spectacular tea specials. It’s the perfect place to catch up over delicious coffee and pastries.

After fueling up on caffeine, we’ll head to Colony Square to browse the shops. We could also catch a movie at iPIC, where we can enjoy a good flick in luxury recliners and comfortable, complimentary blankets they offer each guest. Also, if you like seafood, their Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice is my top recommendation!

Once we’ve had our fill of shopping and cinema, we’ll cap off the evening at Battle & Brew, a gaming bar where we can challenge each other to arcade games over cocktails and crafted beers. With its retro vibe and lively energy, it’s become one of my favorite nightlife spots.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to my family – my brother, sister, parents, and fiancé! They were my first clients, mentors, and supporters, no matter what my business was going through. When plans have changed, or things haven’t gone as expected, they lifted me up with their words of encouragement and reminded me to keep going.

My mother, who passed away in 2018, was definitely my biggest supporter when I first developed Innovative Pages as a high schooler. She saw my vision for the business and urged me to continue growing in my craft. At first, I was hesitant, but I eventually noticed how much I truly loved the design field and enjoyed helping my community creatively. I never wanted to let that feeling fade away, so I knew I had to continue on my journey with it.

I also want to recognize the BNI Pace Setters chapter in Decatur, GA. They were my networking group when I first became a full-time business owner. I grew to see my fellow networking partners as my family away from home! They provided me with incredible leads, mentorship, and business advice I still utilize today as I continually grow my business.
