Meet Madyson Symphony | Music Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madyson Symphony and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madyson, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Honestly, I pursued an artistic/creative career because music has always been a part of my life. I grew up in a musical family, my father was in the industry for a little while, I still have some family in the industry, so I’ve always been surrounded by people in music. It’s always been a dream of mine since the age of 3 and I truly believe that making music is my calling.

Alright, so let’s talk about what sets you apart from the others?
I think what sets me apart from others is my sound and my name. Lots of artist make up cool names when they start their journey, but I didn’t have to, thanks to my father. Madyson Symphony is my actual name. I think there is a quote that says you should give your children names with meaning, so i’m obviously meant to be doing this.
I am most proud of my growth as a singer. I am blessed to be studying music at the Illustrious Spelman College and I have learned so much. Although I can sing, I have never been satisfied with just knowing how to do it, I’ve always wanted to be educated and actually know what I was doing musically. Spelman is helping me with that.
What I’m most excited about is my mixtape that I’m currently working on. I will be paying homage to some of my favorite artists and I can’t wait to release my first project as Madyson Symphony!
As for my journey, It all started at an early age. I learned to sing early in the church. My family introduced me to studio work and BGV’s in my teen years. I recently started my solo career. It definitely wasn’t easy when I first began. My frustration with fear, anxiety, and lack of confidence is what motivated me to actually take the leap and make music my career.
As for lessons, patience is key and God is in control. I am a true control freak. I realized life doesn’t work that way. I don’t rush anything in life anymore, I let God have his way.
I want the world to know that I’ve been singing all my life, so I am not new to music. I am an awkward black girl that loves to sing, have fun, crack jokes, and spend time with family. Overall, I’m a vibe for sure!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m definitely a foodie and I love adventure! I’d take them to Top Golf, Atlantic Station, and a few fun spots in the Battery! That way we can get the food and the vibes at the same time. I’d look to see about any open mic nights. Atlanta is the perfect place for those. We’d hit a night at Apache for sure, just because I recently started performing there. It’s dope to see other artists. I love iFLY (indoor sky diving), and karaoke nights. You can find that anywhere here in ATL! I’m also going to have myself some wings! Either from American Deli or The Bando lol! Food and a good kick back somewhere with friends is where its at!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my father for creating my musical taste and introducing me to iconic music straight out the womb. I also want to give a shoutout to my Tia/Manager for starting my artistic journey. She’s the one that recorded me at 3 years old singing some of my favorite songs and posted them on youtube. She got me into making singing videos and has been helping me with my journey for a very long time. She’s helped with Artist development, Studio sessions, Singing lessons, Auditions, and the list goes on. These two helped with my love and passion for music and they continue to encourage/motivate me everyday!
