We had the good fortune of connecting with Lunar Liv and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lunar, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Although I have been an artist my entire life, my current creative expression began about six years ago in the face of chronic illness. Feeling trapped in a sick body attracted me to the freedom of fluid acrylics, so I began to paint. The process of creating free flowing canvases allowed me to let go and helped me to heal. As I poured my pain into my passion, my business began organically. Today I actively pursue my artistic career in the hope of sharing the healing energy that my artwork brings to me. As much as I adore the process of creation, now it brings me even more joy to see a person connect with something that I have made. We all could use a little more healing color in our lives and I want to provide that!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For the past five years I have been using fluid acrylic paints on canvas, coated in resin, in order to expresses my divine perspective. This year I began experimenting with new mediums which relight my fire for knowledge. Since then I have started creating one of a kind jewelry, home decor and hand painted handbags in addition to my canvas art. Each new medium presents a new challenge but I am grateful to be reminded there is always more to learn. Currently I am most excited for the possibilities that lie ahead. In the future I look forward to curating aligned artistic events that celebrate love, community and color. It can be hard to manage the desire to create and the logistics of running a business, but doing so has allowed me to live a life that I love.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
As an artist, I always think the High Museum is worth a visit. However, if one roams the streets of the city long enough you’ll find good art all around you. For a night out I enjoy going to Our Bar in the Sweet Auburn District. In the mornings I like visiting Condessa Coffee or if I’m outside the perimeter I will drive to Cafe Comma for the best iced matcha latte. On the weekends I love to spend time at the Atlanta Indie Market or Atlanta’s Food Truck Park & Market; in support of my fellow creators!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today with out the continuous support from my family. I want to especially thank my mother for always standing by my side with patience, encouragement and love while I grow as a person and as a business women. Lastly I have an abundance of gratitude for my friends, supporters and fellow artists who saw the magic in my work before I did.
