We had the good fortune of connecting with LloydB Media and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LloydB, how do you think about risk?
Choosing to enter the entertainment industry was a risk. its a risk I was always willing to take though. There’s many talented Directors, Photographers, and Cinematographers, but I knew I’ve always had a creative vision that the world needs to see. Word of Advice, every time you take that risk, even though you may not reach your goal, you’ll always learn something. I look at risk as learning opportunities. When I’m faced with obstacles that I feel may be a risk, sometimes ill take my chances and sometimes I won’t, either or comes with a learning opportunity.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In the begining I was lost. I knew I wanted a foot in the industry, but I wasn’t too sure of the route I wanted to take. I knew I didn’t want to be a mainstream artist, even though I do have bars, and I didn’t want the headache of an executive role. I picked up the camera to try something new. Along the way, the process wasn’t easy. but it became so much easier. It wasn’t because I was learning the skill faster, it was because of the many smiles I put on my clients faces. I structured my business around what the client needs rather than what the business needs. I always knew my business would succeed if I kept happy clients.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First shoutout goes to Natasha Gibson & Family. My mother has always been a shoulder to lean on. My biggest critic and supporter. If you look on my instagram under and of my post you’ll see mom there showing her daily love. Thank you for always pushing me to be different from my environment. Thank you for always believing in me. Thank You for being my mother. Second shoutout goes to The Property Bruhz (Justin, Austin, Momma Dede). My bestfriends for so many reasons. They’ve remained loyal thorugh the process and always pushed me when I got lost. They’ve always been there for a shoulder to lean on. Thank You guys for always loving and supporting me. Third shoutout goes to Sovereign Sounds. DB has worked long hours with me on my social and business development skills. He gives me a place to come and creatively be myself. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me. Shoutout to my production crew over at NoParking The Crew. Those guys put in so many long hours with me. Anytime I call they answer and are ready to work. Thank You Josh and Kev. Lastly, God. Thank You God for waking me up and leading me in there right direction. All Praise The Most High.
