Meet Lisha Rae | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisha Rae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisha, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Augusta, GA. I have family in Houston, TX where my dad is from. He made lots of music which inspired me to follow his footsteps.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a musician from the south. I make rap music in chopped and screwed styles or rap-romantic styles. I’m mostly excited for my rap-romantic styled music, which is my favorite. I got here with co-signs from Trina, Finesse2Tymes, and YFN Trae Pound. Rapping isn’t easy as you have to build actual relationships with people. Lessons I learned along the way is that you can’t show love publicly to everyone, as they might change on you. I want people to know about me as a girl from the south making different styled music with a southern style.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to New Orleans, Lousiana. I never saw so much people outside in my life when I was in New Orleans. It was late night and the weekend, so everybody was outside having a great time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
S/o to T-Dawg, my mom and my dad. I don’t know where I would be without those people.
