We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Nozart-Frierson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to drive myself crazy with work-life balance but everything changed when I had my miracle baby in 2021. Since then I’ve learned to give myself some grace and now function as a work-life “Jenga” game, moving the same pieces strategically to achieve my goal. Knowing that the pieces may fall but that i can always build again gives me piece of mind. I also make sure that all my roles especially in my career are at harmony with my mission of fighting against asthma disparities.

What should our readers know about your business?
In 2010, during a night shift at a level 1 trauma center as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, my passion for ending asthma disparities ignited. A 5-year-old African-American boy’s severe asthma attack led to cardiac arrests, leaving me with heavy heart when he passed away during my shift. His family, unaware of the signs, suffered alongside him. Determined to make a difference, I became a Certified Asthma Educator and pursued a Master of Public Health to comprehend the roots of these disparities. Through my experiences, I vow to raise awareness and provide resources, ensuring no family endures such pain again. At Noz Health Ed (NHE) LLC, a healthcare consultancy business, we believe we are experienced “turtles leading other turtles,” towards their destination in chronic disease management and community health. Turtles no matter the distance, they keep going until they reach their destination and don’t let their slow pace discourage them. Turtles symbolism include wisdom, longevity, and perseverance. We help healthcare institutions and non-profits get from where they are to where they want to be. NHE has over 10,000+ hours of working, training and supervising Community Health Workers (CHWs), Public Health Educators, Daycare Workers, and clinical professionals that take care of those in need of asthma management. We provide all the tools, guidance, and support any institution needs to implement or manage an Asthma Education Program. Asthma management is challenging and guiding patients especially high risk patients in the journey towards asthma control is not easy. It takes a great amount of skills to get high risks patients to be engaged in their own asthma management because it is with them for life, but can be controlled with access to quality education and resources. The challenges with being a healthcare consultant and having your own healthcare business is knowing how to market your skills and who to offer your services to because you can’t cater to everyone. As Linda “Thee Asthma Lady” I communicate through a spirit of unity in the fight against asthma disparities, so people want to work with me in this mission.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We going to NYC and we are going to eat the best pizza in the world in Jamaica, Queens Margherita pizza. Then we are going shopping to spend all our money in SOHO, and ending the night at one of the many amazing restaurants in Harlem.
