Meet Lena Allure | The Artist (Photographer, Creative Director & Stylist)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lena Allure and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lena, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Customer service plays a huge role in your business. Without exceptional customer service, your business is more likely to fail than succeed. I’m not advising small businesses to take fault for everything that transpires by a customer but ensure your customer walks away with a great experience and you could potentially have a loyal customer for the future. I say potentially because pricing is also a factor but some factors can’t be altered especially if you are offering a service. I would also say time management and presentation is important. I’m not going to elaborate on the time management part but for an example when it comes to presentation, I can be compared to other photographers but to ensure I stand out is having all of my business in order from my website to my photography work. Offering something they can’t get from any and every photographer whether that’s a great attitude or great editing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work speaks for itself. I aim to compete with the best photographers and that’s why I continue to get better and grow as a company. I would say what sets me apart from other photographers is my way of editing, my creative approach and my way to do your makeup, style you and take your photos. I’m most proud of myself for coming this far with photography and staying motivated. I love my creative shoots and my maternity shoots, motherhood is an important moment in my clients life especially new mothers. It’s a beautiful thing to capture and celebrate with them.

Getting to where I am today was a process. It was a trail and error. It was seeing what works for my clients and what doesn’t work. It was being a student and allowing myself to be flexible with any sound advice that was given. Taking constructive criticism and embracing instead of pushing it away and ignoring it. I’ve learned that always have a great attitude and give exceptional customer service to your clients because they a part of your business.

My company is much more than a photography business. I offer memories that can’t be erased and I offer much more than photography. I can assist with branding your business and elevating your business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best spot in the city is:

Ponce city market: it literally has every food choice and you can also shop there and it has an entrance to the belt line and connecting to piedmont park. You can go to Ponce city market eat and shop then go to the belt line and ride scooters/bikes or walk & sightsee.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My significant other is the reason why I started photography again. I had a business that consisted of training models and conducting fashion shows and it started to become disappointing and overwhelming due to the lack of work ethic that a lot of my models lacked. I got discouraged because I still wanted to create beautiful photos and help models along the way without have a terms and conditions attached to them. My significant other, encouraged me to do photography, makeup and whatever else I wanted to do! He literally bought me all the equipment I needed for photography. I had an old Nikon camera, the battery door was damaged, so every time I captured a photo, I also had to hold the door. I tried repairing it myself and it didn’t work out for me. My significant other literally said don’t worry about that camera and bought me a brand new camera. He is into graphic designing so he created my logo, helped with my website and so much more! I couldn’t have gotten so far into my photography company without him. He’s truly a blessing to my life entirety.
