We had the good fortune of connecting with Leanne Jamison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leanne, how do you think about risk?
I have been a risk-taker for as long as I can remember. For most of my childhood, nothing really seemed to phase me as far as “dangerous” actions. I was a curious child, so naturally, I would enter into abandoned buildings that were not structurally sound, bring home animals with mange out of compassion and wanting to “save” them, and jump off of bridges, boathouses, and out of trees. Throughout my teenage years, I continued with my risk-taking behaviors, although now, I was being labeled as “reckless,” “impulsive,” “defiant,” and “stupid.” It was at this time that I began a self-fulfilling prophecy and totally owned those labels. My “risk-taking” behaviors turned destructive, as I began “toning” myself down enough in hopes that others would accept me. What I found was that in “settling down” to make others more comfortable, my passion for thrills and risks would come out sideways-either imploding (aka. depression) or exploding (aka. anger fits with hurtful words). Through years of therapy, spiritual mentors, and self-reflection, I was able to reconnect with this “wild” part of myself again in a healthy way. I realized that I have always been a Visionary with a big Purpose and Mission to bring into this world. In this realization and finding my community of other Visionary Women, I felt seen, heard, and understood, and I was able to accept myself fully. I began focusing my attention and “risk-taking” behaviors on my career as I climbed the corporate ladder as a Licensed Psychotherapist. I began exploring avenues for entrepreneurship and started several small businesses until I eventually got too scared of going “all in” and backed out of each…until this last time. I finally decided to go all in. I took a wild chance on myself, my big Vision, and my Mission in Life. I know that all of my experiences have led me to this amazing season in my life. I never really thought of my “risk-taking” as a gift until I fully embraced all of me. Once I did this, the cosmos are literally the limit….and maybe, not even then.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is The Institute for Female Trailblazers, where we offer services and programs to highly driven Visionary women who feel stuck and stagnant in their Business or Career. They are ready to take their lives to the Next Level. We offer them the roadmap from confusion to clarity regarding their Life’s Purpose, Mission, and Legacy.

I am most proud of the community that has been created from the Programs. Each woman creates a foundation based on their Authentic Self, which calls for vulnerability and courage. From that foundation, long-lasting relationships are formed where women truly find their crew to expand into their Legacy alongside cheerleading and pushing past comfort zones.

I created a multiple-six-figure business where women flourish together through a ton of support. I have my own Holistic Business Coach and the community within that program. I look up to women who are busting past limitations and barriers, and I am in that community with them. I have a healing team to support me that includes my psychotherapist, energy healer, and spiritual mentor. I consider them my team of support who help me get out of my own way, out of my own head, keep me inspired, and be consistent in my growth personally and professionally.

My brand is solely focused on guiding, supporting, and empowering women to break free from their self-imposed limitations to live in full alignment with their Authentic Self so they can see themself so clearly, filled with so much power to make changes in their life and the life of others. As the Dalai Lama stated, “The Western woman will save the world”. I am here to make sure that happens, and not just with Western women, but with all women. I know we are far more powerful when we follow our dreams and calling. I know we are even more powerful when we take this journey together. That is what my business and brand are all about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OOOHHH. There is so much in GA that I love that are wildly different. I love the theater, so anything happening at the Fox. Or even some stand-up at The Punchline. Dinner must be in midtown at Rumi’s Kitchen or The Iberian Pig in Decatur.

When I want to get out of the city, the mountains have my heart. I would head up to Tallulah Gorge State Park. I love the tiny beach there and the hike down to the gorge. Either before or after the hike and dip in the lake, I would head to Clarkesville, GA, for lunch at The Attic and stop by The Garden for Wellness for a spinal network session.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have SO many amazing individuals who have helped and guided me through this path. The first that comes to mind is Suzanne Waller. She was the Therapist who guided me through the first part of inner child healing so I could take responsibility for the reality of my life. She empowered me. Deana Brooksher who introduced me to spinal network and SRI. Nancy Gnecco, who is still my energy psychotherapist. Dave Miller, who helped me begin my spiritual healing. Shelley Riutta who is my holistic business coach.
