Meet Latoya Young | Tax Professional & Owner of FY Trucking Services

We had the good fortune of connecting with Latoya Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latoya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To be perfectly honest, I just didn’t want to work for anybody any longer. I want control, I need control lol. When I was working a 9 to 5 I felt trapped. The same routine over and over can be draining and tiresome and it gets old. So my thought process was to become my own boss and take control of my life. So when the opportunity came, I jumped and it’s been a roller coaster ever since. You have to trust the process.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company name is LAT TAX SERVICES. I’m a professional tax preparer with over 10 years experience.

My company just recently started teaching classes to train others to become professional tax preparers. What makes us different is I enjoy teaching. My job is to help you understand the key to being a successful tax preparer.

I’m most proud of being able to help people make some extra income, and maybe even help people become their own boss.

I actually got to where I’m at today by doing taxes lol. No it was not easy, nothing is ever easy. I started off doing taxes and using off brand software. Then I decided to team up with a partner and started off using their software. It was some ups and downs. So the next year I was like I’m just gone buy my own software and have that control I was seeking. I’m so glad I made that decision and It’s been up ever since

Being a tax professional helped me to launch a trucking company with my husband. Forever Young Trucking Services LLC. We have our MC/Authority. The trucking company is a billion dollar business, get into it lol.

The lessons I’ve learned is to believe in yourself, you are the only one standing in your own way. Also never give up.

What do I want the word to know about me and my brand? Just that Latoya Young has arrived, and to stay tuned.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I want to say without God nothing is possible. I also want to thank god for my husband, Mr. Young. My husband is my real life superman. He believes in me even when I don’t. He loves me, and supports me, my soulmate. Love you for eternity.

Of course my family has always been here, My Mom, Mykia, Jamara, Tony and Janay. We all are very close, and I love them dearly. Thanks for pushing me.

Then of course my heart, my first love, my one and only, my Peanut. Mama loves you baby and I have you to the end of time.

My step sons Lil Dru, Jakobe, and step daughter Janiya, love you.

One last person and that is Shirley Chriss. I love you and you were a major influence on me. Heels, lipstick, jewelry, clothes, money, and being beautiful. That spoke to a young girl like me.
