We had the good fortune of connecting with Latasha “Boss Chic” Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latasha “Boss Chic”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process for starting my own business was, if I wanted things a certain way;  ideal job, or want the type of life that I desire, I must create it.

I understood that in order for me to have the time freedom that didn’t require obtaining a job. I needed to find a skillset that would replace my income. So I started my own business while still working a job.  During the day I worked my 8-5pm job and from 5-9 pm, I worked on my business goals!
It wasn’t until years later in 2015 that I got good at making my 5-9pm skillset replace my salary. In which, this led me to firing my Boss and going full-time into my career!

Now, I have time and financial freedom doing what I love, working from
home building a digital empire and helping others do the same.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my passion to not only create income for myself but for others. I provide business/personal consultation for individuals who desire to build legacies! I want others to experience financial independence like myself as well as know what it feels like to have time freedom, which is what most people don’t have.

The average American was taught to work for money including myself. We were raised to believe that the only way to generate income and survive is to go to work.
To some degree, this is true however, not many execute or experience the secrets of the wealthy.  Many have not tapped into the ability in which wealthy people accumulate income and wealth.

My ultimate goal with my company is to enlighten people and develop resources in which they can learn from all walks of life, regardless of how they were raised, but to learn about other avenues and resources that are helping set families free and giving them independence financially.

It may have taken me 20 years to figure out the secrets of the wealthy, but I believe it is my responsibility as an educator to make sure that it doesn’t take the next person that long. I am open to closely work with individuals who desire to build generational wealth for their family.

To say it was easy for me, I will say it wasn’t as hard because I had great guidance from my parents. I had great role models because my parents were entrepreneurs and they demonstrated leadership  at an early age while in school through college and even in our church.
But when my circle enlarged and I started surrounding myself around multi-millionaires. It was at that moment that I knew that multiple streams of income and building wealth was for me and I just couldn’t keep it to myself.
Although I was a school teacher for 14 years in a classroom, I retired myself early at the age of 36. I now currently educate people outside of the classrooms; mostly adults.

Traditional education will never teach you what I’ve learned in the past 10 years by surrounding myself in network marketing (MLM‘s) and being a Successful entrepreneur!
The one thing I love about having an open mind is that you allow yourself to learn new skill sets or industries most of us were never invited to when we were in the public school sector.
So the company you keep definitely plays a role in the success or failure of your business endeavors.
I am LaTasha Wilson, the “BossChic”, because I chose a route that most people who attended college to receive a Bachelors and Masters degree wouldn’t be willing to walk away from. And that is due to being uncomfortable! I stepped outside of my comfort zone, tried something new, that didn’t guarantee stability. I walked away from a good job making $58,000 a year with great benefits to go after my dreams, pursue my own personal
goals, and start a business that hadn’t paid me $1, yet.
Some would call that crazy. Who walks away from stability to a thought or idea that may or may not work? I did! Now I make 6-Figures from home. Mostly, in my PJ’s sitting in front of my computer!
I get to have fun in my own home now making money and helping others to do the same!
It’s a blessing!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love fine dining. I enjoy a place with a nice vibe that usually advance reservations are required. Good food and drinks with a live band. I am a food connoisseur but I prefer seafood. I like ocean prime and STK or a good Steakhouse! For a live band we may stop at a cigar lounge. I like fruity drinks, a cosmo or a good rum punch that makes me think I’m in Jamaica… lol.

I like to dance every now and again so we’d check out Eventbrite and see what’s popping!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to say that my success was because of my upbringing.  My parents were both Pastors from Detroit, Michigan. Bishop Samuel Wilson and my now Angel Beloved mom, “Lady J” Jackey Wilson.

They both instilled the importance of knowing who you are and whose you are. We Used Bible verses to identify who we are and our strengths for instance, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”

My mom was a hard worker, having me at the age of 16, she knew that she had to provide a way for us and did just that with poise and grace! Meeting my dad in high school they later married at the age of 21 and expanded our family  my siblings Shana Wilson-Williams (Renowned Gospel Artist) and Samuel Wilson, II.

My siblings are also successful as well in their own respective businesses.
My upbringing was conducive to success because my parents taught us discipline and gave us structure. I’m so grateful for them both and my dad who was my first mentor!
