We had the good fortune of connecting with King Judah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi King, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
There’s nothing more important than establishing a legacy. It gives you an opportunity to live for something that’s bigger than yourself. My legacy is one that’s already been instilled in me from a youth. For as long as I can remember, my father always taught me to “Pay It Forward” and perhaps by divine intervention, that same quote was the personal slogan of my high school principal. When I reach the finish line, I want to be able to look back and see that my passion for the performing arts fueled the next actor and/or actress to pursue their heart’s desires. I want people to remember me for being a genuine human being. One that pushed people to become the best versions of themselves. One that truly cared about all people no matter their race, gender, orientation, or background.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up as a kid in Newark, New Jersey, you develop a certain type of grit that isn’t found in many places. This grit is what defines me. It’s what sets me apart from all others. I have this relentless grind to be the best at whatever task I indulge in. That’s something I am most proud of. In regard to my acting career, I’m most excited about where this journey is going to take me. So far, it’s been one heck of a ride. I’ve had my share of ups and downs as many actors usually endure when first starting out. I’ve experienced moments of self-doubt and also celebrated my fair share of victories. From an interpersonal standpoint, it wasn’t easy. Egos definitely have to be checked. Learning to accept defeat or rejection has never been a strong suit of mine. I grew up in an overly competitive environment where winning was paramount. I was able to overcome this by humbling myself after experiencing so many failures. I had to realize that winning isn’t always necessary to win. Sometimes it takes falling flat on your face to learn how to truly succeed at a task. Failure was my best teacher. In turn, I took those frustrations and channeled them into another form of art. Outside of acting, I indulge in shoe design. Recently, I’ve curated a shoe brand, Dieu de Luxe, to which I’ve collaborated with Alive Shoes for distribution of my premium luxury designs. I want the world to know that your creativity doesn’t have to exist in just one lane. Instead, look at your life as a highway and ride every possible lane with no regard to the speed limit. Your growth is only as big as the ceiling that you set.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The city of Atlanta is full of exciting places to visit. There’s far too many to name but if I had to have a day of excitement, I’d recommend the following itinerary. Start the day off with a nice breakfast/brunch at Snooze. This place has a retro inspired interior with an awesome atmosphere and perhaps one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to! After breakfast/brunch and depending on the time, I’d hit up the High Museum of Art to experience the variety in artistic cultures. If you’re a fan of the ocean and want to interact with the wonderful creatures of the sea, then not too far from there is the Georgia Aquarium. You can grab some lunch from their concessions area or grab a quick bite at Twin Smokers BBQ. If you’re not pressed for time and want to enjoy a nice atmosphere full of music and good eats, then maybe Suite Food Lounge is another lunch option for you. The nightlife is solely dependent on who you are as a person. There are so many nice lounges to indulge in, but I’d like to go in contrast of the norm. For the nightlife, I’d recommend a place called Beat The Bomb. If you’re into video games or any games that are fully interactive, this place is for YOU! For dinner and bringing the night to a close, I’d recommend a nice, cozy eatery like Little Bear where you can treat yourself to international dishes, beer and cocktails if you’re into that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It truly takes a village to maintain your sanity. That goes for LIFE in general but pertaining to the performing arts industry, I have so many people to be thankful for. Some have had a direct hand in how things have turned out so far and others have contributed without knowing how big of an impact they’ve made on my life. With that being said, I cannot dedicate my shoutout to just one person. This one goes out to EVERY SINGLE ACTOR IN THE SOUTHEAST REGION giving their blood, sweat, and tears to the art! This is for the ones who wake up and go to sleep everyday doing the work! For those who dedicate their precious time to taking acting classes. stunt classes, audition intensives, getting headshots taken, and constantly grinding just to receive more job rejections than any other industry but NEVER GIVES UP! I say to you…KEEP MOVING FORWARD! The accolades will always be a byproduct of the hard work that’s put in daily.
