We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Oberheu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
One of the most important habits is being ok to take time, real time to work “on the business” not just ” in the business”. Habit of knowing when to have fun! Connecting to nature! Of course, this is part of who we are and what we believe. 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Plants Forever is a full scale horticulture and holiday design service firm. We approach our work through the lens of branding. Understanding the clients brand then helping them to bring that to life in their space. We embrace creativity, excellence and an open minded problem solving approach to our work. We have been in business for 38 years, and during that time have had moments of glory and moments of hardship. But have weathered them through having strong leadership and decision making skills. We are most proud of our ability to lead in our industry. To be open to change and new ideas to keep our company fresh. We want the world to know that we have a higher call in our work. We see nature as a conversation about the bigger things in life. And we see Christmas the same way. For us it’s all about they why.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Atlanta, World of Coke, The Beltline, Stone Mountain Park, Ponce City Market and Lenox and Phipps Plaza for Shopping. The Garden Room is amazing. The Roof at Ponce is also got a lot going on in terms of view of ATL and cool drinks and great vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Bobbie Pike, my mom. She started Plants Forever, Inc. as she likes to say with three people, me, myself and I. I’m honored now to carry the torch. She has passed along a lot of great wisdom. Kimberly Jackson, my executive coach. Amazing mind for business but more importantly insight to the heart. My team! Are you kidding they are the bomb!
